From what I read the fireworks were launched, it was just too dangerous to film them that close in a helicopter so they showed the TV audience CG footage of the fireworks whereas the crowds there saw the real thing.
And with the lip syncing so what? Seems to be trying to blow everything out of proportion and make a sob story about the poor kid who didn't get to be on stage. The kid was happy that even her voice was even used in the Olympics....
And it seems a bit Ironic that this is coming from the American Media which values beauty much more over talent 🙄

That is an erroneous statement. The ceremonies you see are all real. If they are saying that we saw is fake, they are also accusing NBC of falsifying their broadcasts.
Certain hidden elements present at the ceremonies are not what you think. the child uses lip sync, which is normal. I don't see what the big deal is. Olympics opening is a show. You know? It's suppose to entertain people. And that's what China did, they entertained people. Don't tell me you believe those magicians actually have magic. They use tricks. But you don't see the magicians getting bashed by people for using these tricks.
You people who scold and criticize China, ask yourself the following: "Were you entertained? Were you happy? Why are you so pissed off? Is it because you are jealous that you can't do what China did? Is it because you are a racist?"
To all you damn haters out there. Take that fork out of your behind, and shove it up there again.

Huh. It's messed up they kicked the original girl because her teeth was messed up. At least the tape didn't skip during the other girl's lip syncing. The digitally inserted fireworks thing was a kick in the balls though. Seems they inserted an extra 55 seconds because it was impossible to view the area from helicopters.
As for anti-china news on the TV, I was pretty surprised they weren't severely negative during the taped opening as they were during the 30 minute human interest crap they tacked on before it on NBC.
As for basketball, things actually feel a bit more exciting now that a lot of the other teams have matured. Still doesn't capture the excitement of the '92 Barcelona team.

I was there, none of it was fake. It's impossible to digitally insert fireworks within a 0.01 second time frame of which you get the film, edit in the fireworks, and broadcast it live.
I watched the badminton Olympic matches today and my ass hurts like hell because i was sitting at the stadium for 4 hours straight. China won all three of their matches. Bao Chung Lai was really something today.
Anyways, if i'm not actually there at the arenas then I'm usually watching the games on CCTV which has the best coverage in my opinion.

Exactly, I don't see how some sick people can just sit there and analyze these videos because they have no life and lives in their mom's basement for 50 years and then just spill diarrhea out of their mouth.

China just want the world to see what the people at the stadium saw. Is that wrong? We saw all of what those people who paid the tickets saw. I think that was a pretty fair deal.

Well, if you're in the stadium, then you wouldn't be able to physically see all 29 of the footprints anyways...(with the stadium walls blocking your view)

I think Fireworks that we saw on TV was CGI plus real ones. People wanted to see entertainment, which I believe many was entertained. Also as Rob1988 mentioned it was too dangerous to get close in the air to cover the fireworks. There was actually fireworks going off however, just not as pretty and perfect as was done by CGI. But the report there made it sound like there was no Fireworks at all.... But I doubt even if there wasn't any, people would still love the Op Ceremony. C'mon how many Awards shows and etc...hasn't used 'fakery' to entertain or for that matter celebs. Models on magazines anyone?. I'm not surprised either if the kid was lip-syncing , it wouldn't be the 1st time I've seen it. All in all, the Op did what it did. Entertain

Like someone said before, China has been winning a lot of the gold medals because they excel in most of the sports that have been going on so far. E.g. badminton, diving, gymnastics, etc
Wait till the track and field starts...and that'll mostly be the US
Ye, so far the alot of the sports are what China excel at, wait till the strength and stamina related sports come in, though gymnastics requires quite a bit of strength and precision. Other than that, I remember a study/research, mentioning that Asian people have to work twice as hard than the Westerners for these types of events because Asians are not genetically built for power etc...kinda like how Asians can't drink as much as Westerners, also I don't know if this still goes on but doesn't US steroid almost anything there with food E.g Cow, Chicken, Veg etc.., it was in some documentary on Discovery Channel. Still leads me to wonder, how is China able to compete against US? Must be one hell of some training....and maybe some Mario and Sonic at the Olympics 🤣

Yeah, at location, there were real fireworks. On our tv screens at home for the unfortunates who can't afford tickets and can't get visas into China, 28 of the fireworks were shown in CG while the last one was real (the one that stepped right into the stadium)
