Preferentially by a female author. Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated!
*man/boy. No shemale pls. Only forced gender bender (but still masculine gender) tolerable at the most, and maybe hermaphrodites lol
*i prefer romance but dont mind others as long as you consider them very very good

I edited my first reply and added an asterisk to the ones I like the most (most of them are comedies).
There's no yaoi, so the lists I made are safe ?
As for josei manga, I can suggest you these ones:
Bokura no Kiseki
Sakamichi no Apollon
Shitsuren Chocolatier
Tada, Kimi o Aishiteru

Aishiteruze Baby, Boku wa Imouto ni Koi o Suru, Coda, Full Dozer, Hinatama and One Winter are all other ones that come up under the Female Demographic with Male Lead tag, and yeah, all okay at least.
Good luck ?

No biggie, it's always better to have other reader's recommendations, right? I didn't give you all the ones I had, some of 'em suuuucked ?
Speaking of which, a big recommendation on Sakamichi no Apollon that Bog Initiate mentioned, one of my favorite titles of any demographic right there. Of course I liked the period setting, the themes with the jazz and counter-culture stuff, but yeah, just a great overall story from start to finish. Couldn't recommend that one highly enough if you haven't already read it.
