Lately it has really amazed how little people care about this. I may just like I'm nitpicking, but come on. I read someone's cover letter to apply for a job and she put "lol" in it. 😔 I'm not looking for something that you'd hand into your english teacher, but I dunno it seems that it shows what kind of person you are if you do this.
"durr i r k00l"

Bored as hell here.

I don't care about how other people type.
If it's mine grammar and somebody tries to correct me, as long as it's someone I respect I will do so, but getting it from a random stranger, why should I care?
Personally I had known very nice people with not so nice grammar, but does it have anything to do?
Surely, sometimes internet slang is annoying, just keep it as opinion, even if you want to convince them to correct it or something it wouldn't go anywhere.

Don't really care, as long as I can understand what people are saying.

I used to try to be as correct as possible, but over the years have sorta degraded to using stuff like (for =4, to =2, you = U)... the simple stuff.

Even now, I try to be as correct as possible, but won't really force it on others.

My main problem is that I can be a bit too vulgar at times, but I'm trying to tone it down.

P.S.... I once submitted a paper where I replaced all the 'you' with 'U'.... still dunno what came over me that day.

I correct my friends, as jokes, and thats all. I don't care how other people type, though it sometimes bothers me.. haha, reading the post above mine, I notice I write 'want to' as 'wanna' and, 'going to' as gonna, and other things. Its pretty fun how the teacher doesn't notice, too.

i think when it comes to those type of slang replacements they dont mind except when its those big papers that is worth like 200 points

I don't care if people just make mistakes or have somewhat poor grammar skills or use common simple abbreviations or whatever. I use stuff like, lol, etc.. and I sometimes use gonna, wanna, sorta, dunno, em, etc.. depending on what I'm writing and where.

However, when people go out of their way to intentionally misspell things and replacing letters with numbers and capitalizing every other letter... that kind of stuff can irritate me sometimes and if it's too much I'll just skip reading their post entirely, but I'm not presumptuous enough to correct them.

What I would like is for more people to format their posts better. I hate a big ass wall of text and I'll skip them sometimes too, just because I don't feel like getting lost in the middle. Break em up into paragraphs guys.

As for using internet colloquialisms on a job application, well that's just not a great way to get hired. 🤢

Am I doin it rite, guise? 🤣
I only speak 1337, when I'm not being serious.

Besides of that, I try to be as grammatically correct as possible. 😛 Though because of English not being my native language, it's kind of hard to do at times. >_<

I'm usually pretty close to gramatically correct. I just forget a few capitalizations here and there and that's about it.

Internet speak is okay to a small extent and when used appropriately. But when people overuse it to the point where I can hardly read anymore, then it's way too much. If someone uses it in a formal situation, like on a job application, then that someone needs to spend less time online.

That's part of why I don't get bothered about general grammatical errors and stuff. I know not everyone has English as their first language and you never know.
