my lil brother (9 years old) is. He read my manga while i was on a school trip. Death Note really shocked him and my parents got so mad at me. I´m glad I hid Elfenlied, 'High School of the Dead and my hentai & ecchi stuff before i went.

One more time one more chance, the anime/movie. At first I didn't get it, but now, it's just so real... Manga only gets me paranoid for like 2 days then I'm over it though

I don't think that I've experienced anything to the point of scarring, even after watching the movie titled 'It' at a tender age of five.
I can't say so for my bro though, he has a fear of clowns to this very day.
But I did get really uncomfortable when I was reading this manga. I don't really remember the title but it had 'revolution' and 'monday morning' in it and the genre was under josei and mature.
It was also a oneshot.
Let's just say, I closed my viewer, deleted and shredded the file before reflecting on what I have actually read.
It wasn't what I read / saw that disturbed me but rather the fact that someone had that sort of plotline and actually published it.
Some mangaka's truly must be on magic mushrooms or something mad
Think of it this way, it's better to have them draw out their forbidden thoughts instead of having a few more uh... ...Predators roaming around in the streets.
...I don't think I could made it sound any better without offending anyone. 🤢

by Scarred do you mean like, manga that damaged you or manga that changed you? i dont think ive ever been Damaged by manga but i know Elfen Lied and After School Nightmare changed me for the better, i learned a lot from them.
not for life but just shocked me for many many years
when I was around 8-9 and surfing MU (I'm pretty sure it was MU)
I clicked on a random title and there was a very pretty of a guy holding a camera.
the genre was drama and yaoi
I didn't know anything about sx, rpe, or guy's could do it. (I didn't even know what gay meant...)
so I downloaded it and read it and I couldn't understand why the guy was crying, yelling, hugging the other guy.
then suddenly they started to make out, I was competely confused what they were doing..
then the guy just...with the other guy
and thats how I was scarred and learned a lot of new things
few years later the same thing repeated with the word shoujo-ai and shounen-ai..hahaha...
I got over it kind of over now...

yes
i surprised myself why i got the guts to read manga again but a couple years ago i never really read manga and my sister mainly read them. so my sister had been begging and begging me to read a manga book so finally i agreed to read one. so she thought it would be funny to go out and buy the most detailed, most explicit yaoi book she could find and made me read it. 🤢 me of course not even knowing what yaoi was decided to read it and not even a minute into the book there was already so many pictures i was left utterly speechless. 😲 had pictures in my head for weeks. thank god for filters on this site

Never, I started reading manga when i was like 17, by then i was watching some disturbingly graphic crime shows on tv and read all kinds of crap on newspaper - that's fucked up stuff in real life; also had watched Salo and Saving private Ryan by then, so manga kinda pales, didn't read mai-chan though.

I read Elfen Lied when I was 11 or 12, I think. Contrary to the many opinions posted here, I wasn't too traumatized. The ending made me almost cry though...
Biomeat Nectar (12 yo) made me open doors cautiously for about a month, so I would say it has scarred me somwhat.
Mai-chan's Daily life: Oh man... Now I got scarred in that one..I was just browsing the manga list, when I see the title. OK...doesn't look too bad (Didn't see the description) -clicks- Why is there blood in the title? Must be one of those action girl-hero manga...(since Mai-chan was smiling) -clicks through contents, etc.- AAAAAAHHHHH -runs into bedroom, shaking on bed- -scarred for life. Almost-
Claymore was pretty gory, but not too bad... Parasyte scarred me a bit. After that and BM:Nectar I was done with horror manga.
Paste siggie here. ^^
