School Days freaked me out but I eventually got over it.
I also got over that uncomfortable feeling I had for months over that creepy teacher guy from Azumanga Dioh XD
Elfen Lied wins. I loved the story, don't get me wrong, but I was only like 12 when I watched it.
All the blood was enough to creep me out, but I couldn't stop watching it. Not to mention my love for puppies and episode 8 didn't mix too well.

Well no manga has scarred me as such, I mean I just find the needless gore in Gantz and stuff hilarious - guro is a bit OTT, but still not something I couldn't read if I were ever able to find one with a decent plot. I would say however that some manga have shaken up my perception of things, as in Bitter Virgin for example - prior to reading it, I never really thought that
rape could be so devastating, that it could in fact be just as bad as murder and I now have - and will probably always have - a very different view of such things and their implications for those involved.

I haven't been scarred, but there have been some that have ticked me off.
Uzumaki is a prime example. After reading Uzumaki, I couldn't forget about spirals for two weeks.

Ouh yeah...Kago Shintaro works are definitely disturbing--
Some of them are actually funny and interesting...but the rest is just.....-_____-
And they're not disturbing like Mon Seul or Freesia for example...he just really taking it too far--
And i agree about rape....i allways hate that thing in manga...even not the rape exactly..but the way of mistreating women...thats the only thing that i can't stand in any way....i've dropped Sundome and Wolf Guy because of that...atleast untill the end of the series...
Edit: Remembered another one...Jokuiku that is one fucked up manga...though i knew what i was getting...but still...aswell as Kids dick parade..(looks like it was even removed from the database...)

I know! When my little sister made a spiral-related craft project and hung it near the front door, I was extra careful of walking in that area. (Call me paranoid XD) I only read the first chapter...

Haven't encountered scary scarring like too much violence or scary sex like hentai or yaoi/yuri/GL/BL (because I check the categories/genres on mangaupdates first before reading). But one story left me thinking: WHAT?!?!!!! And that was Aishite Kudasai, Sensei... twisted, obsessed teenager maaaan...
And then there was one that made me pissed off to the max, which was Renai Shijou Shugi. I mean... what's with the rape?! by different men!??! in every chapter?! Stupid... so stupid...

The closest "manga scarring" moment for me would have to be Miyuki-chan in Wonderland. Mostly because I wasn't expecting what I found. I'm not a yuri hater, but I'd rather it have a back seat with some yummy yaoi going on in front. After that, I learned to ALWAYS flip through manga before buying and not just read the back. I read it from cover to cover before tossing it on the table amongst my friends and walking away. (one of them took it)

My first horror manga, when i was 9/10 years old...it was a retelling of 'the grudge' and the artwork was insanely creepy and it was the first time i'd ever seen dead bodies, on television or paper. I couldn't sleep for a few nights after that.
but now stuff like that is relatively tame for me and i don't mind horror manga.

I was never really 'scarred' by manga but disturbed... yeah, somewhat.
I never read guro so that's not exactly what disturbed me like most people here.
Let's just say I'm usually disturbed by manga that disregard human values. My explanation might be too ambiguous but let's say I like light-hearted and heart-warming manga better and some fun actions or adventures.
