Black Flag, hands down. Greg Ginn is the best guitarist in punk music, period, end of story.

i may not like Black Flag, but i agree on this point.

Sum 41 is the only other good "punk" band, imo.

unless The Offspring are punk, then they take the cake.

😛 The Clash is better than The Sex Pistols.

And the Offspring are punk. But Black Flag is still better. The only 2 or three groups that come close are Bad Brains, The Dead Kennedys and Minor Threat.

If you would consider No Doubt punk, which I'd say it essentially is, then No Doubt would be my favorite, even if the main genre label is techincally ska, and I really can't stand Good Charlotte, basically a rip off of blink-182. Oh yes I also hate the Ramones 😛

Punk/Ska is applicable, but it's kinda different from the main themes and aesthetics of punk. Really, the songs either fall into punk or ska depending on the song. Like Sublime's Santaria does not sound a bit punk, but Pool Shark doesn't sound 1 bit ska. My 2 cents. And though I like blink, they are really, really soft.

Atari Teenage Riot? (Or is that the wrong genre of punk. I say Digital Hardcore is in. But that's everybody else's call.)

As far as legit punk bands go, I can never say "No" to some Social Distortion.

And of course, one can never forget The Cherry Coke$. TCC FTW!
