Polite bump.

Final Fantasy VI is awesome. You couldn't even tell who the main character was! Celes, Locke and Terra all shared the spotlight equally. Persona 4 is highly entertaining as well, and it has one of the best character developments. I like how each character faces his ugly sides.

FF series and Kingdom hearts I and II.
I kind of liked Devil may cry too.

I found Zone of the Enders kind of good, I guess.

Waah, I didn't know you had good gaming taste! thumbs up

can't just say one because some games just shouldn't be compared T_T

so. . . Suikoden V, ToA, Shining Force 2 and Lufia 2, can't specify which is best amongst these :S

Bioshock easily has one of the best story twists that I've ever come across. And the "good" ending was pretty heartwarming, to be honest.

Other notable stories that come to mind:
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Half Life 2: episode 2
Golden Sun series
God of War series

Pretty hard to decide.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 (in this order: SH1 bad ending->SH2 good ending->go back and get SH1 good ending. Beautiful tragic romance here.)

Soul Nomad demon path: Just for making me laugh. Its hilarious.

Final Fantasy IX

Xenosaga series

Valkyrie Profile Lenneth: The good ending. I like Lenneth so I want her happy. And no, she's not happy with that freak Lezard. As cool a character he is the pairing would never work. Thats as likely to work out as Sephiroth and Aerith or Yuna and Seymour. 🤣

Here's one nobody would probably say, Persona 4
I LOVE this game.
The story is nice and original and feels like I am reading a good manga or watching a good anime, because the characters are so nicely developed to the point where I kind of grow attached to the characters.
Also, I am surprised that I haven't seen Silent Hill yet... oh well. 😀

Besides Soul Nomad we have the same taste in games.
I would just add the Suikoden games, Legend of Legia and Orge Battle 64. 😀

Final Fantasy VII and X has got to be the best for me cuz i actually "role-play" in these 2.

Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Abyss also got a good storyline.

Probably Xenosaga on PS1.
Though for me I was more emotionaly touched by the Tales of Phantasia (Snes/ps1) and Tales of Destiny (Ps1/Ps2)

For me it all comes down to how likeable the characters are and how their involved in the world. JRPG's tend to succed on those fronts more often for me.

yeah, which is why I kind of started to grow tired of the FF series :S I still like IV, VII and IX alot but when it comes down to it the female characters are pretty much always the same, except for Rinoa from VIII whom is also my favorite FF heroine 😀 to some extent VII was "better" in that aspect aswell I guess. . .

VI had better charcters aswell I guess but didn't warm up to that game somehow 🤢

I don't think it's been said for a while, so I'll say it again: Baldur's Gate series.
