hmmm.. i would say that the game that i have played with a great story line would be warcraft.. all games about warcraft, from warcraft I to III, to expansion and even to WoW...

i even have books and novels bout the lore of warcraft.. im just waiting for the release of the book of christie, the life of arthas the lich king...

Hmm Kana Imouto is probably the one with the best pacing and development of characters in the storyline, but that wasn't the question.

I liked Tsukihime's plot a lot, probably the best one I've played.

ehmm... .//hack series, all 7 games put together make it awesome (correct me if im wrong if there are more than 7, those are the ones ive played).. and on PC, id say its the Baldur's Gate series.. the main plot, the sidestories and every character had his own background story which you could play through, truly great.. and yeah if its DS, id say i really enjoyed "The World Ends With You".. it was original and had style.. so this is my little list..
