I've been following that controversy for awhile, so I think probably one the best places to learn more about it is here (bottom to top, oldest to newest): http://www.sankakucomplex.com/tag/hetalia/
You can also try ANN, but it is kinda "Ehhh..." in regards to the effort of correct information and in-depth there about this topic...
Also, I think you should add Kodomo no Jikan to the lolicon-censorship thing, it was a pretty big issue a year ago. 😃
edit.
Oh, and the fake-bootlegs (merchandise, figurines) people get scammed into buying can be added too.
I was just there! ^^; And the second one you mentioned, that's a good one. Thank you.

You're welcome~
Also, there's still the big scandal of plagiarism. Usually, the mangaka would quit like NITTA Youka and SUETSUGU Yuki.
(check mangaka page and ANN for more info on both)
But there was that bitter controversy between TAKASHIMA Kazusa and Kayono because although it was obvious Kayono plagiarised Takashima, Kayono still won due to her famous mangaka parent's connections and Takashima had to quite drawing manga (although it is now rumoured that Takashima will return to drawing manga in a bit).
(See ANN and mangaka's page for more info, and there was a thread here discussing that but am too lazy to search it up, lol)
edit.
I forgot to add that the trouble with the bootleg issue is because people aren't sure whether to blame the buyer or seller. See: http://that.animeblogger.net/2008/12/28/bootleg-figurines-customer-or-sellers-fault/
editeditedit.
Also, just a fun note. It's interesting to see how many people think they can just suddenly make anime/manga just be sending a letter to production companies and publishers. 🤣
See ANN's OLD Answerman column when Zac BERTSCHY was running for many many examples. 🙄

Catzcradle, you're amazing.
Thank you for all the help you've given me. 😀
(And the hope! How could I have missed that whole Kayano-Takashima thing? I hope Takashima will return to drawing manga.)

Naw, I just like being up-to-date, though haven't had time to read any news lately... -_-
Also, added more stuff to my above posts.
(and I'm pretty sure Takashima has already went back to work. I have submitted some news about it (Last Client discontinued, but Harlem to resume soon supposedly), but were rejected... ;_; )

The Americanization of manga by some companies?
Could I have an example, please? ^^;
The only major one I know about was how Tokyopop portrayed the events in Battle Royale to be something like a reality TV show when the original version had to do something with the government.

NOMNOMNOMNOM.
For more stuff about censorship and violence, Death Note has created quite a stir in the news. More than a couple schools have Death Note, due to students 'creating' their own versions of the notebook and writing names in (not to mention the online version created in English), Furthermore, there has been a homicide case where the murderer left (I think) a note saying some kind of misspelling of "kira" with their victims in Europe (?, it's been about a year so my memory's fuzzy...). For more info on both of these topics, see ANN.
(will probably edit later because I'm so high right now. Ah, caffeinated naps+apple juice~ XD )
edit for adding more stuff.
Ah, there is also a controversy with the World Cosplay Summit competition because it is quite well know for being rigged beforehand (or something like that).
edited again? 😛
Umm.. And I'm pretty sure 4chan (which has a pretty big anime/manga community) has been in the news several times due to some major graphic content and powerful influence? 😕
EDITED once again!
A year ago, Tokyopop pissed off alot of people with it's "Manga Pilot Pact" which basically undermined OEL author's legal rights when publishing.
