The only one I can think of is Patalliro author Mineyo Maya (whom is married with 2 or 3 kids). But that's BL/Gag & not yaoi. I guess that makes him a fudashi author?

About treating depictions of gay males fairly,
Recently manga artists have more awareness and try to depict realism although there’s still fantasy elements 😃
(Wow I was like 5 when this thread started)

Wouldn't a male mangaka who draws yaoi, swing that way too?
I mean why else draw and think about that stuff. shudder

There’s a number of men called fudanshi who read yaoi and love to fantasize but they don’t have to be gay. As for a straight male who draws yaoi manga I’m also having a hard time imagining. Though tbh yaoi manga isn’t aimed at gay males anyways so it’s possible that a straight guy would draw it.

I noticed several of the authors mentioned in this thread have been confirmed to be female...even ones with bara art style and KAMURO Akira + her co-author.

As for why people would be curious on a guy drawing yaoi... personally I’m curious to see how a guy would depict and draw the story, and how different or similar it would be. 😁

Does TOUNO Umi seem likely?

I've stumbled upon a rather new Yaoi manga called Dousei Yankee Akamatsu Seven, while the author is female, the artist OKUSHIMA Hiromasa is actually a dude, who previously drew shonen manga. It's such a nice combo and it really adds to the mangas charme imo.

I see... wait, what?
You are saying that a male mangaka would draw yaoi so that he could get more attention from women?
I'm afraid I don't understand that logic...

Also, isnt it kind of mean to assume an artist is gay because he draws BL? Thats like saying all lolicon and shotacon artists are pedophiles.
