On the topic of Shinjo Mayu-
The only thing I've read by Shinjo Mayu was Love Celeb.
It was one of my early smuts and it seemed ok at the time.
15 chapters later it seemed annoying as hell so I dropped it.

I tried checking out something else by her, but the characters put me off immediately.

I loved Blaue Rosen/Ai Ore. But everything else I've read by her has been trash. She has created some of the most brainless female chracters in any mangas I couldn't help feeling a little offended on behalf of my gender when I tried to read Love Celeb, thanks to the female main... damn talk about stupid characters and stupid plot...

Again I love Blaue Rosen, but it really differs from her usual series... The characters actually have personallities. xD

I dislike the characterization of some of her female leads. Some of just seem .. too weak, too needy, too clingy to the main guy lead. And most of the time, the men are cruel. And yet, these women fall in love with them. I haven't read all of her works, but the ones that I have read (Haou Airen, Zakuro no Mi wo Abaite, Motto Oshiete,etc) kind of let me down.

Ai Ore and its prequel weren't too bad; I actually enjoyed it.

Overall, I'm not exactly a fan of her work. =/

But seriously, have you guys noticed how after marriage the main char always looks so old? I think it was the extra in Love Celeb from another one of her series where the char was like not cute and totally unkept looking and just looks like a common housewife while the guy is like still super hot, wtheck -__________-''

I have never read anything by her. One of her mangas is on my wish list so i guess i will try it.

Art is bad. Very stiff drawings.
Plot line is always extremely stupid and shallow.

I'm ok with the art as well as some of the stories. However, I dislike the stories where the male lead is aggressive and rapes the female who later falls in love with the guy. This is degrading to females, and I dislike those characters. Other than that, certain stories that are more unique and emotion based rather than sexual are ok.

what I like about Shinjo Mayu is that her smut is actually smut. I've read so many shoujo manga that were labelled smut but then there's no sex scene and I'm just like WTF. A lot of shoujo smuts are just too tame for me so I appreciate this aspect of her work.

I absolutely HATE her rape=love storylines. I HATE her weak and stupid females. I don't have a problem with her art. Lastly I HATE her repetitive storylines that make it seem like all of her manga are the same.

i only read akuma na eros and that was enough bullshit for me
im too scared to try her other works haha

I'm kind of scared to read her manga at any time because I never know when there'd be a sex scene
(don't like smut) 😲 , but I've read some of her one shots and it's all the same to me, no character change only the plot and the way the characters look. it's easy to see how her stories go and how they end y'know? so i don't really read her work anymore.
