Do you read raw manga, even if you can't read Japanese?

Yes, even if the manga has never been scanlated before. I'm just that desperate!
Yes, but only if I've read some scanlations of the manga already and it's really interesting.
Yes, but only if there's a cliffhanger at the end of the current scanlations, and I *have* to know more.
Yes, but only if there's been a huge gap since the last scanlated release, and I've lost patience.
Yes, but only if a previously scanlated/licensed project has been officially abandoned.
No, never. I wait for the scanlations.

There should be a 'No, but I've been tempted' selection, because that would of been my answer.

I'm learning Japanese in part because I don't like waiting for scanlations because most of the series I like have gaps of half a year or more between scanlated chapters.

So, yeah. I download RAWs just to keep me on my toes. A lot of them are new to me - I've never read the series before. Then again, I also download RAWs for series I am in the process of reading because I'm impatient. My reading level is at the point where I can understand a fair amount of what's going on even if I can't understand all of it. Jousei and Seinen are harder because I have to look up any kanji or compounds I don't know by radical rather than reading.

RAW manga is a drug for me. XDD I'm all over it. Hopefully I'll be fluent in Japanese before I graduate college. I'd like to teach English in their schools for a while.

I have three volumes of Otomo Katsuhiro manga in their original Japanese, two of which are untranslated and more than likely will never see publication outside of Japan. I bought em for the art alone cos I just lap up everything that guy does, but since Otomo draws in such a cinematic and expressive fashion it's not too hard to guess what's going on at all.

The only other instance where I've read raw manga is when I'm dying for a Mysterious Girlfriend X fix, and the scanlator hasn't released the chapter yet. bigrazz

I thought about it but no since I'll just spoil the story and I might misunderstand things, but I've been tempted by some series embarrassed

only for one series...
but after reading the raws and being completely clueless I always read the summary of the chapter on that really useful site. I'm so grateful to the author of those summaries xD

I've also tried raws of another manga and after flipping through the pages I knew as much as in the beginning. If you read the end it's probably clear and you can understand it, but in that matter I agree with Avian3, I don't want to be spoiled.
