Has anyone heard of Uchida Kaoru? Their style is like Kano Shiuko's where the ukes are manly. And Abe Akane has a real nice style if anyone's read Reversal of Love Talk.

I agree with some of the names that were mentioned already, the last memorable one being Inariya Fusanosuke. I understand why some people would find it strange, especially regarding her huge Semes and fragile-looking Ukes; nonetheless, hers is such an unique and beautiful style. Given as she writes mainly war scenarios, the contrast truly is mesmerizing in a way never seen before.
I'm one of those obnoxiously picky people who will completely disregard a manga (regardless of how good the plot sounds or the ratings it has been given) on account of the art alone. I don't need to fall in love at first sight for it, but it needs to be something either beautiful or intriguing enough for me to keep turning pages. That being said (and perhaps some of you will not agree with me), I absolutely love sketchy art styles. Something like:
ICHIKAWA Kei author of Slow Starter (ICHIKAWA Kei)
Shoowa author of Koujitsusei no Tobira
Hideyoshico author of Ringo ni Hachimitsu
HAYAKAWA Nojiko author of Endou-kun no Kansatsu Nikki
Then we have KOIZUMI Kiyo, an artist I've heard some strong complains about but who I like very, very much. I acknowledge the proportions are all weird but - damn! - it's addictive. I crave for more a little bit each day. Ah!
HANAMURA Ichika is also very peculiar in terms of art I think. To me, in such works as Kimi no Iru Sekai Shikairanai, it not only grew on me but it haunted me no less! I find it quite irresistible too.
Then we have the more structured but not at all mainstream kind of art style which I also love, mainly because it usually involves more mature, manly guys :$ Stuff by Yoneda Kou (my favorite) and Hidaka Shoko (my second favorite), Suzuki Tsuta....
It's the Art of Time, it's the Art of Life--
Of the player and the craftsman,
Of the writer of songs, of the creator of love,
Of those who will follow, of those who led,
There's no other way in the world ahead ♥

yay for yoneda kou, suzuki tsuta and Naono Bohra! i actually don't mind a lot of art styles but I sometimes dont like the older types. I'm not sure if they're considered mainstream but Junko, i really do like her art. I used to like [a]Minami Haruka's[/a] work but they're very cutesy drawings? Oh and Sakira i like, although she tends to draw very musculine uke's ... i guess you would probably classify it as bara?
There's also Moto Haruko and Enzou. I really love their works!! (don't know if anyone's mentioned them yet??)
Some others are also Mentaiko, Psyche Delico, Zaria and Sakuraga Mei.
And I also actually really like sketchy art types
