Okay, I had to make this because nowadays the world is ruled by computers >.>
Antivirus software mainly prevent and remove computer viruses, including worms and trojan horses. ..
and everyone is concerned about viruses, they don't want they computer to get infected, and start going slow.
A friend of mine asked me today about antiviruses, he was going to buy one because the one he has expires in 3 days. He was wondering which one to buy, what are the best ones out there?

So here it is, what Antivirus software do you use ?
which do you like/dislike
and which would you like to have? etc...

Me? My two personal favorites are Kaspersky and ESET NOD32
I'm using NOD32
I hate Norton, even if it is a winning award VIRUS software that slows down your computer
🤣

Right now I'm using Nod 32. I don't care that much as long as it works. Also, while antivirus is a must, alone it's just not enough.

Avast! home Is what I'm using. It works really well, and if you don't feel bad about no spending money and ripping people off on such things, they have a 30 day free trial on the website which you can download, and then when it expires all you have to do is uninstall it and then download it again. (My parents yell at me for doing such things, but they won't give me the funding to do anything legit. Alas, the woes of not having a job.)

I always want to make lame pirate jokes whenever I say the name, though. XD

Norton is something I absolutely despise. D< Not only does it not work (my little sister had it on her computer, but it got full of viruses anyway) but it also locked her out of the computer almost completely, because she forgot her password. Meaning we couldn't go in and do a manual wipe of the computer. Then the computer finally got so infected that you couldn't do anything aside turn it on. ><
Not to mention I also have bad memories of it from when I was a little kid. Stupid thing wouldn't let me play puzzle pirates because I didn't know the password. Then the stupid thing got uninstalled, didn't it. >D Still, until I uninstalled it I was most frustrated and vowed to despise it for the rest of my days.

What kind of computer and OS do you use? Because it doesn't ever slow down for me, even when I'm running a full virus scan.

None, currently.
I do have Spybot's TeaTimer on to
keep an eye on the registries
and javascript is off.
I don't sport sites or
DL files that much.
My pages are pretty
much limited to this
and wikipedia.
Haven't been hit by a virus
for what 9 years.

I'm coming to your house and I will take that computer back home with me. >:-( 🤣

I guess Norton just doesn't work that well on yours, because here's mine and it's been working perfectly.

Currently using NOD32 works fine for me and doesn't slow down my computer. Haven't a virus for ages. My computer is kind of high tech though so not sure about slower computers.

Uhh...Avast! home edition is free for home use, so your parents shouldn't have to yell at you. All that is needed is online registration, but nothing you have to pay for. I have had that on my computer for a while as well as the computers my other family members use. It updates itself pretty much every day so I don't have to worry about it being out of date. Nothing to complain about so far.

🤣 don't worry norton is a good antivirus but I just hate because It has been proved that kaspersky and nod32 are better in everyway and cost less money that's all, and the scanning speed of norton takes forever! and for a guy like me who doesn't buy anything software related, I just hack it! Kaspersky and NOD are so much better you should try them 😃

I'm using Panda because they give it to this PC when my father had to change it. It's probably the worst antivirus ever. Far worse the Norton and Kaspersky. But that's just my opinion. I'm waiting for it to expire and then reinstall Avast, which it's what I usually use. At least I have CCleaner which does the dirty work for now.
And the sygate fw (fw is more important imho than antivirus).

I'm so glad to see Avast! home edition-ers! I'm also one of them.
It's free and awesome, what else do we need? 😀

Previously, I was a nortoner for about 4 stinky slow computer years.
Why I stuck with it? It worked fine. Slow, but worked.
The "whole system" scans would take 1 1/2+ hours to complete. And It hogged the CPU like a bi----

I didn't really care about getting another one because it's kinda like.. a TV that works after hitting it a few times. >_>;

But my subscription was going to expire this August. I was too lazy to remember how I used norton for free for 4 years. Yeah, cough, I did something to the norton files. 🤨 shh! But I forgot what steps I took. That's what urged me to find another Antivirus.

So I just switched to Avast. (It was quite recent actually. I think I switched this July!)

Anyways, I'm glad i stopped being a tard, going through all these problems, just to get internet protection from some crappy program like Norton. Well, crappy because I couldn't even run MSpaint without lagging. But it did it's job.

I use avast because it has a whitelist and blacklist for websites I don't want to connect to. Now if only I wasn't too lazy to use it as often as I should. That's just the free version. I actually switched over from avg since version 7.5 acted a bitch and wouldn't work right on my computer. I actually had to do a fresh reinstall because avg screwed so bad on me. Before that avg was great, but I've found avast to be a little better.

AMEN!
I hear ya, man. I had Norton 360 a few months back and it was HELL.

Currently Running Kaspersky Internet Security. It's pretty good. I have no qualms with it.
