hmmm... wasnt sure how else to put in the topic title but anyway Ill give it a go here. Im looking for a manga where a character (preferably the main protagonist, although a side one is ok) is part animal, or able to fully transform from human to animal. +anima is a good example of this because the children involved are animal hybrids, and therefore have attribute of an animal, including tails, ears, wings etc etc. Another good story I have come across is wolf and spice, which involves a protagonist who is able to transform from wolf to girl. Less serious stuff that I have read so far has been Inukami! and some magical girl series of which many of the names escape me for now.

While I dont mind stories containing ecchi (aka Inukami) in moderate doses and can read SOME magical girl series which have been good, I would love more serious suggestions such as anima and wolf and spice rather than the more light hearted stuff. Any genre would be great, with the exception of hentai and heavy ecchi stuff.

Only one I can think of at the moment. I only watched the anime, but I'm pretty sure there is a manga somewhere if you wish to read it. By the way though, its a tragic series so if your not really into that kinda stuff, stay away.

The best one I know is Kami to Sengoku Seitokai there is some ecchi but its ok the main part are battels so far I read
well and more ore less good but much ecchi are Omamori Himari and
Kanokon

I like Kindan no Koi wo Shiyou.

Mikan no Tsuki, it's a story where various characters turn into monsters (vampire, werewolf, tengu, fox).

Tokage Ouji is about a prince that is cursed to transform into a lizard.

Beast Master, actually the protagonist is not an animal, but he acts sometimes exactly like a wild beast.

Dear Wolf, is a cute, way too cute, shoujo oneshot about a guy that turn into a werewolf.

Mugen Spiral resembles a lot Inuyasha, but it seems to be abandoned only after 2 volumes. The demon turns into a cat when he wears a necklace similar to Inuyashas.

Note: All the titles I've mentioned are shoujos, not horrors or whatever.
