Can you be more precise or provide a manga example? I remember there are only very few of alternative history mangam but no particuliar title strikes my mind. Although if you haven't read those titles there is a high possbility that one of them is a What-If-Series. For example Eden deals with the Idea what If a virus spread in 1992 and kills over half of earth's population. How would history turn out? I'm scanlating it so I'm pretty much sure that this is one of your What-If stories and definitely worth a closer look. As for all other mentioned titles in my post, they are decent Worst-Case scenarios and also kinda like What-If stories.
Shana oh Yoshitsune fits.

I was just judging by the descriptions, so it they may fit and i not know it. I will most likely start reading them all so i can judge myself. But of the ones mentioned in this thread, judging by description, the one that fit my initial request well are Zipzang, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Samurai Commando, and Threads of Time

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.
You mean something like "The man in the high castle" made manga? Difficult question. 😀
Just a thing that I wanna know, you want something still set in a different past or it's good also in a "deviate" future?
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Chrno Crusade
Noein (anime)
are my suggestions for now.
What I like in Trivial Pursuit style. Pick your category:

Eh, eh, problem is that I never found a manga with the same identical concept, only manga based on a similar concept. If you know a manga like that, tell me 'cause I'm curious too.
The only thing that fits the bill is the anime "Beyond the clouds" (Shinkai Makoto), as someone already mentioned it.
Otherwise you can try something like NGE (based on a second impact like the one who killed the dinosaurs happened in 2000 which killed millions of people) , but it's not exactly what you're looking for.

it doesn't need to be exact, I just want it to be in the same genre.

No one's actually translated it yet (and, quite possibly, no one ever will), but be on the lookout for Oooku. I wouldn't be surprised if that's to your liking.

"Ryuuroden" would suit your request, I guess.
It's historical, and based on "The Romance of Three Kingdoms"

Seconding this. Actually I'm wondering why the hell Oooku is not licensed/scanlated yet, especially for such a critically acclaimed Yoshinaga Fumi's title.
Adolf ni tsugu may fit your requirement. The premise is what if Adolf Hitler is actually a jew. Though I haven't finished it yet, so I dunno if in the end of the story it's true or not [edit : just checked it's already on your reading list 😀 ]

ouke no monshou (daughter of the nile) and red river both are older manga's so maybe you wont like it....... anyhow......
both manga's are about a girl that gets kidnapped into the past... change a lot.... make a emporer fall in love with them and become goddessess... and have enemies........... wars that never happened will happen and how to stop it and go back to your own time?
