im having a HUGE craving for historical manga right now. im think maybe historical romance, or time travel. ive already got anatolia story, vision of the other side, real fake princess. ive read a lot of historicals already i just cant remember their names. if anyone has anything gud they'd like to share, please do feel free. i'd be quite happy. 😉

I'd suggest Samurai Legend, and perhaps Taniguchi's other work, The Times of Botchan. Both historical accounts of the Samurai.

and one of the best manga ever in my
opinion...plus its fully scanlated... cant believe you haven`t read it
though if you like this kind of manga,
maybe you just forgot to mention it 😀

Edit: oh forgot to mention that there is a lot
of tragedy in it too, it reminded me of berserk in that
aspect...
if you don`t like tragedy then you sould avoid it...

I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT THAT ONE!!!!! I knew there was one i really really wanted to read but i hadnt gotten around to it yet. and i didnt know the story line either. i knew it was historical, but i cant believe i didnt remember it. thanks!!!

RYO and TAIL OF THE MOON are good historical mangas...

Rurouni Kenshin was the first one that came to my mind. There's more action than romance though....

I third Historie(seinen, note: some gore) and second Vinland Saga (note: some gore here too) and suggest Victorian Romance Emma(seinen), Cesare(seinen), Mozart Doesn't Sing Lullabies (seinen), Hyouge Mono(seinen), Sakuran (josei), Kaze Hikaru(shoujo) , Basara, Georgie! and Candy Candy and The Rose of Versailles _ ( old school shoujo), Bronze no tenshi.
Historical, romance+time travel: Kanata Kara(shoujo), historical + time travel: Story of Beijing Opera (shounen) .
Some of the best historical&romance manga ever made are by YAMATO Waki: Haikara-san gaa Tooru, Asaki Yumemishi _ , Yokohama Monogatari... but sadly there are very few scans for her works.
I supppose you already tried Rurouni Kenshin too (although I enjoyed the anime OVAs better 😛 )
