When Soah's impoverished, desperate village decides to sacrifice her to the Water God Habaek to end a long drought, they believe that drowning one beautiful girl will save their entire community and bring much-needed rain. Not only is Soah surprised to be rescued by the Water God-instead of killed-she never imagined she'd be a welcomed guest in Habaek's magical kingdom, where an exciting new life awaits her! Most surprising, however, is the Water God himself... and how very different he is from the monster Soah imagined.

i read this manhwa since 2011, and at that time, i was really crazy about this manhwa, always looking forward to new release, and so... osmile yeah, the art are gorgeous, strong character. Even it's like typical shoujo manga, i mean "human-god relationship", which it's impossible but always interesting to read. But right now, i dropped!!! I can't understand why this story became very tedious and long-winded. i don't know why the author drag it so much,, look at the couple, the problem more and more complicated and irritates me so much. sometimes the author put the problems (a lot of problems), which is impossible and not important at all, even to think about it. when this story will finish? who knows!! i tired of waiting. _(.----.)_

The art makes me so jealous of the mangaka's skills... Everything is so elegant!!! omg! Main characters are also enjoyable!

but.... after the first 10 or 20 chapters, the plot just becomes a bowl of mush...... so many side characters appear with hidden intentions that I just ccan't swallow it all down.... Plus, many of them have the same face! WHAT THE HECK?

Overall though, I would recommend people to try the manga out, at least until chapter 25 or so.... and then give up if the story becomes too overwhelming.

Dragging on forever

I loved the art, and it had such great potential in the beginning chapters but holy crap, it's like a never-ending train wreck. The moment one problem is solved, there's another scheme or plot that the protagonist is dragged into.
At times I think about just dropping the story all together, but I love the art too much. I guess I'll wait until this is finished before getting back into it and changing my rating :/

Alright so you start off really enjoying this manga. This plot is intriguing and the artwork is gorgeous. But as you advance farther and farther you sink into this rabbit hole of nonsense plot lines and too many characters to count doing God knows what. Ugh. It really upsets me because the artwork is so good but eventually the story just gets way too bad for it to even be worth reading anymore. I ended up having to drop it. I just wish the author had known when to stop to story....or even where she was going with this story because at this point its just an endless string of pointless misery, odd love triangles, and dumb competition. If ratings went by artwork alone I'd give it a 10 but if you include the story its more like a 4.

The initial volumes were immensely interesting to read due to the amazing art. But this manhwa has really gone downhill. It's dragged on for too long and the stupidity of the characters make me want to blow buildings up (seriously, it's like being in Korean drama hell). Unless the author pulls off a spectacular ending somehow, the ratings are only going to get lower.

There are just too many characters in this series! All possessing a certain roles, too many main characters I should say. A little confusing. D: But so far, the storyline is still good.

The author has such beautiful skill in artistry and the initial idea is interesting as is the world she has created; the problem as aforementioned in previous reviews is in the characterisation and plot. It's overly convoluted to the point that everyone has some sort of scheme or dark past no one is truthful which makes it incredibly difficult to like anyone because you never get to truly know anyone. That and the plot at times is so difficult to understand (I commend the scanlators for trying their best to give us the story) it nearly makes no sense at all. The heroine is truly bland, a beautifully crafted heroine but that's all that there is to her. The rest are all pretty clichéd with Machiavellian elements thrown in, they read like an overcooked kmelodrama (and I've seen my fair share). Its a great shame because it is just so beautiful to look at but with all its complications it becomes a bore and a chore to read.

Like all the others who commented before I just have to say that the art is beautiful, top-notch, and amazing. If you just want to look at pretty pictures then be my guest. I haven't read the latest chapters so I don't know if it started making any sense again. As for me, it came to the point, that I was no longer even bothering to read the dialogue and just going from page to page, looking at the pretty pictures.

...then the author started dragging it on longer than it needs to be. As a rule of thumb, shoujo-esque mangas should never exceed 50 chapters. Just by nature the cliches, the whining, the crying, the love triangles, the angst, the misunderstandings, the melodrama and bad decisions get irritating by that point so most authors think of wrapping it up by then.

Also, when I say fifty chapters, I mean for a story with a legit plot and semi-decent characters. This story has the blandest heroine I've ever seen, blander than Bella from Twilight or Hatsumi from Hot Gimmick. It's not even that she's weak, she just has no presence. I'm not sure why I'm should be rooting for her. The lead male has a terrible personality, which we as shoujo manga/manhwa readers have seen a thousand times over so it's nothing new. I wouldn't even describe their romance as a romance: their "love" just suddenly happened one chapter and then the girl that caused this whole plot to happen--Habaek's greatest love--didn't matter anymore.

It's shoujo but this story flows really unnaturally, it's getting too long and tends to go in circles. The sad part is this could have been an amazing manhwa if it was short and to the point. It's art was pretty enough but I wouldn't really recommend this series to anyone, even for the art.

if only this was guided well enough it will flourish beautifully and perhaps successfully. Nevertheless, art and story is ok [though their limbs are so unsually drawn lol but nvm that its not at all that freaky or whatever].. I'm having second thoughts if I will be adding this manhwa to my regular list of manga/manhwa's i am currently reading, i will try to be patient though 'cause I'm still in the first few volumes.. MAYBE i will be adding this. I just hope this won't make me disappointed & perhaps get depressed lol biggrin
