... and by manga covers, I mean the image usually used on the Series page here.

Sometimes, it's the 1st volume, or the latest volume out (released in Japan or scanlated).
Other times, just what readers think best represents their favourite series.
And there are times I've even seen when there isn't a real volume printed yet, a picture cutout is used instead.

Examples:
Kept at the 1st volume: Fullmetal Alchemist
Constantly updated with the latest cover: Vampire Knight
Just used a panel/cutout because no volume released/from anthology: Onnanoko Tokidoki Otokonoko

Just wondering how the people of MU like their favourite Series image to be.
And what kind of Series Image do you guys think best represents a series?

(and if there are another type I forgot to add, feel free to let me know! 😛 )

I can't help wishing you had included the option:-
They should keep a copy of each volume cover.

Because how we have the image section set up right now, this option would be stupid.

I like the latest one (as long as it's an appropriate image) in the original language... it helps to keep the Status in Country of Origin field accurate (just had to change Fullmetal's field 'cause someone changed it to 27 complete when only 26 volumes have been released).

Also, if it does not have a tank yet, I prefer that the series page use the title page of the series... something like Flower Day.

Edit: Or "Whatever I like/can get"... sometimes you can't be too picky.

For all I care, it could be a picture of a hairy ass on every series page.

I like an Ongoing series updated with the latest volume out in Japan.

And I like a Completed series to have the cover of the first volume.

You are like the dense main character in a shoujo manga.

I think it's best to have the volume that is most representative of the series as the manga cover - i.e one with the main character on it. This is why I disapprove of the cover of Ace of the Diamond. If I thought the manga was about two old baseball players with mustaches and beards, I would not have clicked on it. I wish they wouldn't put misleading images up.

Haha, I know what you mean! 🤣
Generally, I like looking at all the different covers in a series. But really, what I want is just more people reading the series I like/think is good. So I personally prefer it a more representative cover to attract new readers, which is why I usually like it kept at the 1st volume. 😛

I dislike covers from the English version of the series (when it's not originally in English) on the series page... I'd rather have no cover than that.

....
And I knew there was one that was like this... just didn't remember.
