Best/Favorite Manga/Anime Based Off of A Visual Novel/Dating Sim/Bishoujo Game
Quote from Wonderland
Toradora is my favorite. I know a lot of it could be predictable, but it was a story that made me happy, and the ending was done well enough to satisfy me (lots of things end poorly).
Toardora comes from a light novel (book), not a visual novel (game).
I generally don't like manga/anime that comes from games. Exceptions are probably Higurashi for anime, while for manga I can't think of anything worth mentioning.

Bah! Didn't read the title of the post as well as I should have, sorry! For those, the horror series higurashi no naku koro ni /kai / and Umiko I guess would be the best of what I've seen...though, I was pleased with the ending of School Days.
First time I saw the playboy get what he deserved. Best way to end a series when a main character has no redeeming qualities.

Kanon here too, though I'm talking about the 2002 series & 2003 OVA (haven't watched 2006). It was completely addictive and beautiful I thought. Made me cry.

School Days, of course.
Shuffle wasn't bad either.
Was Ef~ based on a visual novel? It was watchable (barely).
