Sadly i never got to wear a uniform 🙁
I remember visiting my cousins in puerto rico during the summer time and going to buy the material for their uniforms. They way they do uniforms there is pretty cool as actually. As long as they use the material and colors that the school had choosen for the year, then they could make the uniform look however they wanted. You would see all these kids walking to school in the same material but different designs. Yeah i was a little jealous...
Also they always told me it saved them money on clothes and time in the mornings since they didnt have to think about what they were going to wear. I know i spent at least 30 minutes everyday trying to figure out what i was going to wear....

Other than PE I never had to wear a uniform.

A little let down I was kind of hoping for unicorns, lol. Speaking of which I should see if there's a thread about that ...

On to the topic. Yes I've worn a school uniform once. I didn't like it, but it was nice in some aspects. I didn't have to spend 10- 40 minutes deciding on what to wear to school each day. But then again, I want to stand out, and that's not possible with uniforms.

I love school uniforms. Of course, some are better than others. And when everyone wears the same I like the subtle differences like do you button all the buttons, are you wearing socks or stockings etc. I don't actually see many people modifying their uniforms, except for shortened skirts sometimes. I like longer than usual skirts though. I always wondered if that gave an 80's image or something...

Yes, and I loved them just 'cause I'd be too lazy to pick out outfits. Plus, we all know how judgmental High School kids can be. Overall they weren't that ugly. My only issue is how much I hate maroon. It was a public school so the dress code was a bit more lenient. Skirts could be rolled up, you didn't have to wear your tie, top buttons did not have to be done up, girls could wear shorts etc etc.

I'm the type of person that spends a lot of time in the morning just trying to figure out what to wear -_-
Even now in college I wake up and I hate having to choose what to wear. Everyday I wake up and I'm like "damn I wish we had uniforms"

Our school had uniforms, only the 7th form pupils were allowed to wear mufty (non uniform). The uniforms were alright, I had a shirt+shorts, and would wear long pants and a jumper if it was cold outside. The prefects and headboy had blazers that they would wear in a formal assembly. Ties were not necessary but there were some if people wanted to wear them.

the jumpers we had were dark navy blue.

Anyway these things were expensive (a plain blue shirt for 40$? get bent, shorts and pants costed about 70-80$, and the jumper aswell)

Also if you had long hair it had to be tied up, and you must always shave your beard/moustache

I am not fussy at all when it comes to my clothes, but that pricetag. >:-(

we also had P.E uniforms, but they didn't come till I was 7th form so I never had to buy one 😀 , I would just wear shorts and a t-shirt for p.e, and sometimes wear shoes if it was cold (barefoot all the way)

our P.E uniform was just a blue shirt and blue pants that had our school logo on it.

at intermediate (middle school?) our uniform was just a red poloshirt with a navy blue collar, and black shorts.

P.E uniform was red shirt with blue shorts.

Of course black shoes were compulsory and you would get a detention if your uniform was wrong, no jewellery, no singlets underneath shirts, no hats except for navy blue. You were allowed to wear the Turbans and stuff like that though.

Nope, never wore a uniform for school. Back when I was in school I purely hated the idea of uniforms, but the older I get the better they sound. 🤣

So much easier not to have to figure out what to wear every day... Now I have several identical pairs of pants that I wear for work most days during cool/cold weather, and just choose different shirts. My job is pretty casual & no one cares what I wear. 😃

I've been wearing uniforms for as long as I remember. I guess I like them because you don't have to think what to wear the next morning...but I don't like wearing skirts much so maybe not.

Primary school, the uniform code was pretty slack, so apart from that girl's hair had to be tied up and correct uniform worn, no one really cared about anything else.

High school, the uniform is much stricter, so correct skirt length (past the knee, which gets even longer in year 12-13 (we have an extra school year here)), no dyed hair, top button done up and everything else. There's also a blazer that has to be worn "all times out of school" which is boiling in summer and during four hour long masses.

Anyway, uniforms are expensive. 🤢 My high school loves uniforms, apart from the complete uniform change in year 12, then again in year 13, there's a PE uniform and even more uniforms for other school sports teams. There's even things such as a choir uniform and a (contemporary) dance group uniform and such.

You'd think both of my schools are private but nope, it's state-integrated, so semi-private (about a 1/6-1/4 of private schools in fees around here). 😔

ditto. back when i was in high school there were debates about introducing uniforms into our school system but it never happened. i was really glad about that too. now that i'm older, i don't think it would've been such a bad idea because it can save you money on clothes. although uniforms can be quite expensive depending on what kind you get.

also, i don't think the uniforms our schools were considering had skirts, but i would've hated having to wear a skirt everyday. i think during my four years of high school, i only wore a skirt to school once.

P.S. forgot to mention that i hated uniforms so much that i would sometimes refuse to wear my PE uniform. but that was also because i hated PE

Grey shirt and skirt everyday was very boring. But I never had to think of what to wear so that was good.
