I prefer getting money as a present and then do whatever I want with them, instead of receiving a present I might not like.

Money is money I don't really complain about it, I have however had gifts that only cost like £2-4 that have had a lot more impact than say a £20 note.

Ya, money is money, I guess...but I do get offended sometimes. o-o;; I think I only get offended when it comes to close family members since it seems they don't even bother to try and get me something I may like. That kinda sounds selfish of me though...D;

But I'm a hypocrite, if they ever get me something I find "tacky" I'd wonder why they didn't just give me the money...

depends on who it is money from family and friend/co-workers is fine but I wouldn't want money from my girlfriend that would kind of feel weird cuz if we hangin and you know what I like/dislike money shouldn't be your only choice

Its sooo much better then getting stuff I'd never use. Like, my grandma used to get me these dresses that were baby pink and covered with lace (not to mention normally a size or five too small), and it was sooo annoying. Now, she sends me money. 🙂 I couldn't be happier.

I love getting money, but I also like getting presents that are in nice wrapped boxes along with the money. It's a little sad looking down at my presents and I see that I have more tiny envelopes than wrapped presents. Then again, I understand I'm someone that's hard to shop for.

I LOVE getting money.. the only thing is its awkward.
Especially when they put it in the card and you KNOW there is money in there and you want to seem thankful not greedy. And they are staring at you. And you pretend to read the card and be surprised when you get the money.

And then you find out how much money and you don't wanna seem like it wasn't enough.

When getting cash gifts I get stressed and laugh nervously. And I am deathly afraid of awkward situations so getting gifts can be a great but stressful time.

I used to like getting money as a present, but now since everyone's giving me money and I just save it... I kinda want a real gift now. Because I know that I'll never use the money they give to "spend it on something" I want ('cept for manga, of course).

But of course, it's way better than getting something you don't want. 😃
