Depends on the person, really. And even then, I wouldn't mind. o_~ I would know that they had their reasons for it. :] Personally, I guess it would be convenient indeed, but for someone close to me I would spend time making a gift for them, or trying my hard to find the perfect gift.

Yes. I kind of defeat the purpose when someone gives you money so you can buy your own thing. I never do bother to use it for that purpose XD

I like getting money because it seems whenever someone tries to buy something for me they buy something that I have no use for, at least with money I have it for when I find something I really want.

Depends on the person ... but I'm really to the age now where I'm doling out the cash to my siblings/nieces/nephews (instead of getting a lot in return).. It's just easier when you don't know that much about someone.

It does show a lack of effort. Getting a gift shows that someone thought about you. (But I still like gift receipts!)

its the thought that counts in my opinion and giving money is just like saying i dont know what to give you so im not going to try and just give you money

its somewhat dull i perfer it if people would put forth a bit of effort when getting gifts even if it isnt the greatest thing so what if you have like five thousand ties its the thought that counts

quite frankly im appalled with the idea if gift cards too its completely a waste of time
its a worst idea then money atleast with money you can get food WTH can you get with a gift card? from some random store like macy's?

Money is great but if you get something from close people to you its not like going to throw it in the trash atleast they took the time to go out and pick you something for your birthday or christmas
