nope, that's really not good, very unstable, if you run with all your strength like that, you would probably experienced some accident.

actually you don't as long as you don't run into someone(but that can happen regardless on the way you run).because you can easily hold when you change direction,make a normal run and stop.of course you have to think a bit to do it but that's nothing bad and you can actually see it in the naruto anime too.when they start or stop running they usually run "normal" at first so they ARE in control all the time

and kishimoto sure isn't the first one who did this kind of run

it's just not used often but a lot of things isn't used normaly just because most people don't do it that way...
