Anime Year 2008 (Warning: Lots of images to load)
Voted Toradora; I spent last night watching episodes 1-10 and this morning watching episodes 11-19.
That nightmare was funny. 🤣

I'm a shoujo anime girl mostly, so for me it was between Special A and Vampire Knight (since I haven't seen the Skip Beat anime yet - working on it). I finally came down to Special A since Vampire Knight isn't done yet. =)
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

I can't believe so many would vouch for the greatness of Code Geass R2... If it was the first season I would understand, but the second season was below-par compared to the first. It was more action-oriented (read: every episode there's a Strongest Mecha of the World). It was enjoyable (especially because of those crazy, unrealistic plot twists) but it isn't the best by far.
That because thats the only one people watched.
Yeah that pretty much sums it up for me. I preferred season 1, but season 2 of Code Geass was better than the other animes I watched that were listed here.
I agree that the first season was better due to the different time slot but I've seen a good number of the anime up there, pretty much all the ones that interested me really, and still think that Code Geass is the best. Nabari no Ou was good but lack of subs meant I can't really judge the anime fairly as I never saw past episode 19 plus it didn't hold my interest as much as Code Geass. Even with the extra action I still think Code Geass has the best plot, best characters and character development and was the most unpredictable without losing all realism. I think reading manga influence enjoyment of anime though as I love VK manga but I'm way behind on the VK guilty anime because I know what's going to happen already which kinda ruins the whole anticipation of the next episode. Obviously that didn't happen with Code Geass so each episode was ore interesting to me which helps the enjoyment. Each to their own though I suppose.

To me, CGR2 was...mildly enjoyable.
I finished the first season, with a tad of difficulty neared the end.
But I did anyway, thus I even bothered to finish the second one.
I guess it was alright as a whole but...
Bah, I'm bias.
Amatsuki deserves more votes !

Itazura na Kiss was my favorite anime of '08. A great combination of comedy and romance; adored Kotoko and Naoki. ^___^
Skip Beat, Code Geass R2 and Clannad: After Story are also very good.
I read so much mangas, I'm too lazy to watch anime! 😛 😛 😛
Manga I'm loving ATM: Heart no Kuni no Alice

I was actually surprised at how many I'd seen, even if I did only see the first few episodes. But I'm pretty much like that with everything so it's not like putting on a semi-permanent hold is anything new (one of these days, I'm actually going to catch up on the three seasons of Lost I missed). I thought I didn't watch that much anime...
Anyway, Skip Beat all the way for me.

There are several that I could vote for, including the two that seem to be the most popular. But I went with Spice and Wolf because it was short and sweet. And it was incredibly unique compared to the rest. 2008 had some really good, and really sub-par anime. I had thought this poll's results would be a bit more diverse though.

It was close between Code Geass r2, Kurozuka, and Tower of Druaga I ended up picking ToD because It would probably get less love, and Kurozuka had a shit ending. But, that wonderful list of pictures gave me some new things to check out!
