Kinda cliche, but I like it! so any recommendations? Any genre is ok. I'm also curious if there's a shoujo manga with this kind of setting because I've never actually read any, where shoujo has this kind of scenario.

Shoujo mangas just dont have popular girls in general- u c popular good looking girls are for bitching, terrorising/bullying the lucky plain ones who always get the guy -- and if by chance they are such girls, these girls dont fall for normal guys- they have to become popular sooner or later or mangaka wont have a chance to draw bishies and wow the readers...

.. but non-shoujo do give some modicum of character to these girls 😀 ..I guess Hatsukoi Limited has one like that which is really funny- its too bad this manga has many romances and couldnt concentrate on the one I wanted 😀 ...

A remote resemblence to what you want would be Kodocha but the guy becomes popular later in middle school but not as much as the girl who is a professional actress...Ah! but a good one might be Monkey high which unfortunately has only two chapters released.. another one is please save my earth though the story is complicated with reincarnations, both in both lives, the girl is popular and the guy is popular in one of the reincarnations but its like she is light and he is darkness, if u read it u will know what I mean..i guess thats about it..

However, if you ever find any shoujo mangas like this, I would love to read them..

Trying to think of shoujo with this, but it's always the ordinary girl that falls for the popular guy. And rarely are the girls popular.

Kodocha Despite the fact they are like 10 so there is very little romance. But the girl is a celebrity. And I wouldn't call the guy plain, but he is a loner.

Ahiru no Oujisama sorta, the girl love interest has a lot of guys interested in her, but her tastes run rather strange, as she seems to be attracted to the outcasts.

H3 School The guy isn't ordinary, but the girl is popular among her peers.
