While I don't really see the problem with enjoying something that your boyfriend/girlfriend doesn't I'd suggest something like Gantz. Unless he doesn't like reading either, then he may just be a lost cause.
Also don't give him anything too mainstream. Bad idea. If he doesn't like manga those series are probably the reason. I have had experiences before where peopel like to link all manga/anime to series like Naruto and Dragonball.
Make sure to show stuff that will suit what he likes, see what movies he watches, games he plays, books he read. Good indicators.
You guys have given me a lot of good suggestions. :] I love you all.
I'm staying away from mainstream as it's most likely the reason he's turned off from manga. Have you seen those Naruto maniacs out there? Yikes. >_< Yep. Enough to keep a whole group away. XD
He is 18, as many of you guessed. ;P Seinen doesn't sound like a bad idea. Gantz was one of the first series to pop into my head when I made this thread, but I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. I stayed away from Berserk because of the sexual shit.
I want something that does get him hooked at the beginning. I don't wanna make him read 20 volumes before getting to the "good part". >.>
Interests... Hum.... He likes shopping... And money.... And PS3... And shopping.... And money... And XBOX Live... And shopping.... And money... And blowing stuff up.... Did I mention shopping and money? :3 maybe a series with a char like that? XD
P.S: KennEH, its about making me happy and him less ignorant. Mostly the former. ;D And so that I can actually let him into my room before hiding all the manga I own in my already-crammed-with-manga closet. XD

Gantz SUCKS! It's full of stupid shit for those immature minds who want gore and porn.
Monster anime and manga, Eden, Death Note, FMA, Darker than Black anime, or even Liar Game, Shin Angyo Onshi, should be better choices.
If he doesn't like serious stuff (you can figure it out from the TV shows and movies he likes), try comedies instead.
Maybe you should find out the reason why he thinks manga are retarded. If the reason is that he thinks manga are childish and stupid borderline porn, I am sure reading Sekirei and the like would make him think manga are idiotic more because the plot is really pointless and just full of panty shots and water-filled balloon-like boobs.
It's OK to like something he doesn't like. You DON'T have to share the interest. I see no point of hiding what you like.

Hmm, well that actually helps.
How about Black Lagoon? Guns, explosions and good amount of action. Seems like a great fit to me.
I'm not a hundred percent sure, but Tsukihime should fit. I played teh game and didn't read the manga, but from what I've heard it's basically the same without all the sex. That would be a great story for him to read. Unless he's not much into romance and suspense.

I suggest Parasyte, and I would suggest Historie Which is so totally well thought out and great, but its not licensed.
Claymore would be good too, and if he likes some horror I'd try Uzumaki.
If he doesn't like action of any sort, Hikaru No Go MIGHT work. I doubt it, but it was the second manga I had ever read, and I liked it. Not entirely sure though, because its kinda childish. (I read it when I was 9. XD)
Money? Hmmm.. Maybe 666 Satan? Or maybe not. Its a bit Main-stream and childish..
Oh, Togari is also pretty good.

Another idea, which I think would go well with a mainstream North American audience, is Bartender -- sadly also unlicensed. What I mean is that the story seems very much like something that could be on prime time weekday North American television. It's a little clichéd in terms of presenting Japan in contrast with Europe/North America and in terms of the some characteristics of the leads, but I don't think that it hurts the story.
