I was 12 and I watched a VERY censored yaoi. Then I was curious, so I tried a manga. And by age 13, I was already a committed yaoi fangirl XD
No judging >;D

I think I was 14 or 15. I was introduced by a friend (girl). My first was Junjou Romantica. - The perfect yaoi for everyone to start because it's funny, spicy as wished, but not too much to make people have a heart attack on their first time! xD And it's a really great story. =) Watched it trice, read it twice. ^^

My first yaoi was Shounen Zanzou when I was 12~13 too, but the story was messed up and dark, I got scared and didn't look for more yaoi mangas. Then, 3 years ago, I started with shounen-ai, Seven Days and stuff. The first yaoi I can remember after that was Little Butterfly, it really hooked me up into this genre.

Eroica Yori wa Ai Komete was my first yaoi. I was nearly 12, I think? The art and plot wasn't my thing. I found out about Hoshi no Yakata after that and got hooked on yaoi ever since. ^^

I'm not sure if I was 12, 13 or 14, and they probably can't be considered real shounen ai, but it was Conde Cain and Princess princess, oh, how I suffered hoping for some kisses... After I realized I was into this kind of thing, I went searching... and here I am, after years, still searching for shounen ai and yaoi. hahaha Oh, the first "successfully" shounen ai/yaoi was Kissing

The first yaoi-anime i watched was "Haru wo daite ita" by Nitta sensei 😛

Wow, everyone so far started out so young. I only wish I knew of the awesomeness called yaoi when I was younger. Sniff Sniff ~ My first was 3 years ago and I was 23.

I was about 13! 😀 I decided to watch an innocent enough looking anime and at first didn't know why the heck they were kissing XD I soon found out >:3 I then became a follower in the yaoi fangirl army XD

I'm a late bloomer. I got into anime and manga just about 5 years ago, as an adult way off your chart. 🤣 Yaoi came a bit later. Most of the anime I knew was through Adult Swim - FMA, Inuyasha, Death Note. I heard that there were pictures of Light x L in, um, interesting situations, went looking for them, and found way more than I bargained for. What really got me started was an AMV of Yami no Matsuei, "Boys and Men". Men (almost) kissing!!! 😲 After that, I watched the anime, then Gravitation and Loveless. The first yaoi author I read was NITTA Youka, still a favorite. And now it's all yaoi all the time. 😃

Lol, I was only 11 and stumbled upon a yaoi by accident. I was at google images looking for cat eared characters in love, I typed love neko. Which is also the name of a yaoi manga by Mishima Kazuhiko. The image looked interesting so I researched it and found the manga Love Neco
I as only 11 year old girl fell in love with yaoi immediately XD
Then I went to research yaoi more and started watching the anime Junjou Romantica, I read the manga too. Since the first moment I was totally hocked.... 😀
Now I'm 16 years old and a total fujoshi, yeah I'm really rotten 😛

I read my first yaoi when I was 16. I wasn't even looking for yaoi, it just came in my way. I was looking for more manga by watase yuu cause I absolutely love all her works, and I was really into shoujo by that time. Anyways I saw Sakura-Gari and gave it a try. It didn't really get me into yaoi at the time cause it's a tragedy and it has a really disturbing story line. After a while I watched Gravitation and loved it. That made me get hooked to yaoi anime, i watched all the yaoi anime I could find and when I ran out, I started reading the manga since I wanted more BL stuff.

14- 16 ...lol
I had first stumbled into the Shounen Ai with my first one being Sukisho, I then later watched
Junjo Romantica and Gravation. So I guess I stumbled into Yaoi around 15 lol. Looking around on the internet is a sure fire way to find yourself either in trouble or luck. I was looking for something that I have no idea now what i was looking for and clicked on something else instead, that being my first Yaoi and Shounen Ai 🙂

  1. Gravitation, the anime. It was love at first sight. Read the manga a couple of years afterwards: hated it. Yuki and Shuichi will always have a very special place in my heart though no matter how many years have gone between us, ahah. I soon discovered yaoi as well -- although I don't remember my first o.o -- and automatically assumed I was all too grown up for shonen-ai lool. On and off, I still enjoy reading some lighter stuff now, it makes me feel a little less of a pervert :3

i was about 18/19. browsing through my friend's computer and stumble upon butt sex. i was terribly scared but aroused, and feel like puking. i make fun of her for that for i just feel it very bizarre. then i go abroad and have my own computer, my own room and freaking fast internet connection, i try to find the yaoi i had read before. at first yaoi make me feel queasy, but constant exposure make me feel almost bored by it now.

thank you, friend!
