It was like that a couple of times.
Basilisk (the first chapter gave an impression of martial arts manga and it was difficult to get the situation).
Death Note (I'm lucky not to read manga first, I'd probably dropped it, it's far more text than pictures)

Yes, mostly if the anime didn't conclude the story.

Yes, and like so many others, that's how I got into manga. I wanted to know the endings, since they were either left open or I couldn't wait for the next episode.

Yeah, actually anime is what got me into manga in the first place lol. The first series I ever watched was Inuyasha, then I started watching Bleach, One Piece and Naruto. So one day I decided to see what they were based on and then I discovered manga.

The first anime that made me want to read the manga was 4Kids' version of One Piece. Same thing with Funimation's Black Lagoon.

Other than that, I just go from manga to anime or just stick with the manga, as some anime versions of the manga I read are horrible failures.

Only once, and that was recently with Code Geass.

I'm quite glad I did it the Anime-Manga way. The anime was hype and made the manga easier to understand 😃

I'm more of a manga fan than anime, so I tend to go from manga to anime. I always have prefered reading the manga.

Yep. Not often though, because I usually go from manga to anime.

Fruits Basket.
But I didn't know what "manga" was until I've did some online searching.

I almost watch no anime since I prefer manga, but when a good anime has a manga I'd always like to read it.

Several times.

Seeing the Pretear, Fruits Basket, Ouran Host Club, UltraManiac and Mai-Hime animes made me want to read these mangas (and I already have).

As for animes that made me want to read the manga but haven't yet, there are: Midori no Hibi, Air Gear, DNAngel, and Tenjo Tenge ... though I'll probably skip Air Gear. =)

Well, and InuYasha, though I don't want to wade through all that.

I haven't decided if I want to read Fushigi Yuugi.

There is a good amount of them that i'm too lazy to name right now, but one which made me really want to read the manga was Black Lagoon. I just thought the whole anime was awesome and had to read the manga 🤣

Pumpkin Scissors, Black Lagoon, Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Panic are the ones that I went anime then manga. Simply because I came across the anime first and wanted more. The manga is usually ahead of the anime if the anime is based from the manga and those are the ones I tend to go and read.
If the manga is created from anime like Code Geass then I really wouldn't care much about it at all since it's the same thing just in a crappier form (for some reason the manga version of anime tend to turn out worse...).
