Description

Yuuichi Tate is overjoyed: He gets to go to a brand new high school. Of course, then he just happens to find out the school he choose is under frequent attack by strange creatures called ''Orphans'', and the school set up a special task force of female members called ''HiME''s, using various elements as their powers, to battle these invaders. That's not all, though. Each member of the HiME task force has their own, unique ''Key'', another person whom, upon being discovered, can team up with the HiME to create a ''Child'', a combative unit specifically needed to effectively battle these Orphans. And with Yuuichi's luck, he just happens to find out he's not just the ''Key'' for one of the HiMEs, but for two... Two highly competitive, rival schoolgirls. And that's only the start of the trouble.

to be honest this manga weren't that good. plenty of stuff was left unexplained, time-jumps were big (you could fit easily a few chapters on a normal manga on the jumps), the characters weren't special and the plot was typical where u could somewhat guess what happens next and the ending too.

imo, the anime is a lot better - plot wise, character-development wise and i prefer the art style. tho strictly speaking, the art quality in mangas are almost definitely better than tht in anime. it is rather unfair to compare since the anime is a rather good one (one of the best imho) so in its own rights, it isnt as bad as some other review would suggest. give it a read if u like girls with conveniently exposing short skirts flying in mid-air summoning monsters fighting each other n tentacle monsters all the while swooning over one pathetic excuse of a man. im putting u off arnt i? well, u're not missing much. i demand u to watch the anime now!

First time I've laughed at how horrible a manga is. The first chapter contains:
1) A panty shot
2) A bra shot
3) A chick with a mini-gun
4) A chick who shoots fire
5) A giant metal wolf
6) Already an explanation of how 3-5 work.
7) Another chick yelling "I'll never run away WAAAAHHH".
8) A scene of yet another chick being...um...violated by werewolves? And the main character desperately trying to save her?
9) An emotional conversation about the scar gotten from situation 8)
10) Main character getting pity-points due to being beaten up after saving someone in the past
11) A huge fire bird
12) A touching scene between main character and fire-shooting-chick which creates previously stated bird.
Holy CRAP. Wow. I mean...
...Wow.
I'm not going to go into detail, I hope just listing all those things will make you realize just how hilariously horrible this is. A hint for manga authors: Try to take it slow...at least in the first chapter... |

all things considered, this is probably the worst manga i have ever read.
like ok, it was off to a decent start, very readable and whatnot, but just went downhill form there. basically no character development whatsoever. i forced myself to skim to the end of it to see if the ending would be redeeming... but i was disappointed, basically it ends on the exact same note it started on. only the world is saved yet nothing has changed. great, wooo hooo

Some people are comparing it to the anime, so it would really look like bad stuff. But, if you rate it comparing other mangas out there, I mean, all mangas are good.. but I think this one stands out. It has an interesting plot, although I don't like the artwork so much. Anyway, it's a good manga... just don't watch the anime first... lol.

the intro of hime and then dooms day...-.-" not a very flexible story line from the start of that.. well the character are fun i guess but arn't really life like but i guess you enjoy the fan service or the SWEET DRAWING OF BEAST OF STEELS!!! |

Actually, I don't really like this manga, but I appreciate the mangaka's effort in wanting to make this a good manga. But that's where it went wrong: he just put in too much of it! The story was way too fast in terms of development. And the ecchi-ness? Wow, quite a lot. The drawing is quite messy, and I wish it would be more cleaner.
It's an okay read for the weekend, but I would not recommend it for keeping.

Can't say I like this manga that much. The events that happen in the story are too bizarre and pace of the story is too quick. I was appalled by the drawings which are done very poorly and the ecchiness of it—how should I say it— was too ecchi. It made me at one point to give up reading this manga somewhere in the first two volumes, but I endure reading to its final volume. I wouldn't say this is a must read manga, but if you are curious about it, then go ahead and read this manga.
