- Spirited Away - the movie was just awesome...I kept rewatching it over and over.
- Grave of Fireflies - really sad...cried everytime I saw it.
- Princess Mononoke - a bit sad yet meaningful somehow.
I also love Howl's Moving Castle and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. But I still love most Ghibli films...they're all great. 😀

- Howl's Moving Castles
- Spirited Away
- Kikis Delivery Service
I really love all their stories. So magical, they are. =D (I've only seen 5 Ghibli movies total, these three, Castle in the Sky, and Whisper of the Heart. So... these are my favorite out of what I've seen.)

Quote from Gediminas
Nice topic, by the way.
Thanks. 😀
And after listening to more OST songs(yep, again. This time Mononoke Hime) I realized, what would the movies have been like without Joe Hisaishi's music. 😲
Miyazaki + Hisaishi = Nice Combo.

It's rather easy for me to pick first one... However, it's kinda difficult for me to pick the other two since I love many of Ghibli's products...
-
Pom Poko
At first, in the collection set, I chose to watch this the last as the cover's art looks pretty childish. The theme is very similar to Mononoke Hime but it came out 3yrs ealier. -
Nausicaa
Considering from a 1984's product, it's so well crafted. -
Whisper of the heart
One of the few works without any fantasy creatures like spirits or monsters, and is not futuristic.
Honorable mention:
My Neighbors the Yamadas, is something different. I really like the artwork.
Spirited Away, personally I feel like it has somekind of magical touch as everytime I see a bit of the begining, I have to sit down and watch it till the end....

1.) Grave of the Fireflies. I would think that it would be clear why without me having to describe it.
2.) Umi ga Kikoeru. I'm serious, I have no idea why no one but me has heard of or likes this. Excellent character development and progression, my only complaint is that the ending is a bit weak in comparison, though still acceptable.
3.) Nausicaa. No explanation necessary.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

No one has said Porco rosso? for shame!
-
Totoro
One word, CATBUS! -
Porco Rosso
There are very few times when you can mix a guy whose a pig for a very vague reason and dogfights and get something that isn't complete poo-poo. Porco Rosso does this exceptionally well.
3.Everything else. Honestly, I enjoyed pretty much every Studio Ghibli movie I've watched. The only exception was Whisper of the heart, which I saw in my japanese class in high school and never finished. From my fragmented watches of it, It makes zero sense.

Ahh, this one is tough. I think I can only say that I like their movies on different levels. The first one(s) is easy though:
- Mononoke Hime
Absolutly amazing film about the environment and man powered machines.
However, I think Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind deserves a round of applause as well, since it was done first (and although it's more "futuristic" per say-- they have some very common themes through both movies) BUT Nausicaa is NOT a Studio Ghibli Film. It was created before Studio Ghibli, and therefore cannot be my "Top 3 GHIBLI movie"
But it such an amazing movie/manga. Go watch/read it right away!

Grave of the Fireflies
Honestly, I want to cry every time I hear the name, it's that sad. Although I didn't cry during the actual movie (I shed tears, which says something). -
**Spirted Away **
Such a magical film. But it's jsut so much more. I can't even decribe it. I definetly agree with the person who said that even the word 'unique' can't begin to describe it. Howl's Moving Castle was also quite lovely. I read the book as well, and this is probably the first time I will say that I loved the movie as much as the book.
Honourable Mention: Whispers of the Heart It's so sweet. A lot of my friends found it boring, but I can't help but love the innocence of it. It's so simple and sweet and pure.
And The Cat Returns just because The Baron is back! And moving! xD
Okay, Castle in the Sky is also amazing. I bought this and Spirted Away on the same day, and it just blew my mind.
Movies yet to see, that I REALLY want to see:
Only Yesterday
My Neighbour Totoro
and the rest of Studio Ghibli. I can't wait for their new film =3
Edit: I just realized I listed just about every SG movie I watch except for Kiki's Delivery Service. 😳 Oh well. They're that good. 😃

- Grave of the Fireflies (screw Disney for not distributing it, it's their loss.)
- The Cat Returns
- Kiki's Delivery Service (My first one, I still love it even though I've seen it repeatedly.)
It was so hard to choose. I just love Ghibli, the actual respectable animation. I'm tired of all this digital crap.
