The internet got me into anime and manga. I watched stuff on the telly and never really thought twice about it until I decided to look up the episodes I missed on the net. This started with wolfs rain and witch hunter robin and, from there, discovered a huge anime culture which then progressed into reading manga.

🙂 I started watching it when I couldn't sleep at night, then I didn't go to sleep at all after I got hooked. Became a slight insomniac and couldn't wait for the new eps to come out, ah the wonders of the internet. First anime, YuYu Hakisho tis awesome! First manga, was picked up at the local library, Real Bout High School 😁

I like the style of Avatar: the last airbender, and some of the other non-american cartoons (i.e spiderman, superman, batman ect.). I wasn't heavily into drawing but I liked to think that art was an interest. So, I got into the style of manga without even knowing it's name. After that, I mentioned it to a friend, in passing, who loved Naruto and Bleach, and she dragged me (willingly) along to a manga night at waterstones. I bought the first volume of Princess Ai and I totally fell in love with the style and the costumes (it was completely new to me, the harajuku thing). I started drawing it.
One day I found, by chance, an online manga reading site and I became hooked. Since then I've become a complete manga addict 😀

I rate manga with 5 being the average score.

I came home drunk once I was about 16 and turned on the TV.
"The Record Of Lodoss War - Chronicles Of The Heroic Knight" got me interested, when I was going through the channel list...
I don't know how long I watched but it was about 3-4 hours later, when it started to dawn, that I went to sleep...
After that, I started to become interested in anime and then I started reading manga...
The first manga I ever bought was when I was about 10 years old. (Dragon Ball)
Recently, I even dug out some of my Goku drawings from that time. 😀

Manga That Needs More Attention: S Senjou no Tena
Started out as dragonball when I was little. Then stopped watching when cartoons became boring, 6th grade came along and at a friends place he introduced me to Akira. Im not a manga crazed fan though, I only have 3-4 series I read at a time. And I rarely watch anime, only the good ones. So sorry no Love Hina for me.

How i got into anime: the usual, my friend showed me the first ep of naruto... 😀
How i got into manga: i was bored, and thought that i could read the naruto manga...
You know the drill 😀
It's very similiar to this. I watched Naruto at "Italia 1" on 2007 and then my friend gave me a lot of disc with latest episodes. I still wasn't interested that much, but then he told me about manga, and how it is more forward than the anime. I began reading a little, but what got me hooked up on manga was "One Piece" 😃 , a year after the naruto anime.
I remember One Piece having only around 500 chapters at that time. When I remember how much time it has passed...

I watched Trigun on adult swim when I was young, about 6 or 7? I didn't even know what anime/manga we're until I turned 12. I watched naruto without realizing it was an anime, and then my friend told me about anime/manga, so now I watch/read anime/manga.

Well, it's kind of my brothers fault, but also mine. The main reason we got into it was when Naruto first showed up on t.v. we liked it and wanted to watch. Then, my brother started looking for it online and watched ahead. This lead him to watching other anime that was on the site and caused me to see him watching Death Note. Then I started to watch it with him, and eventually I wacthed ahead. Then I got into other anime that he talked about, and somehow made it over to manga as well (possibly because of my friend talking about a manga that I then looked up, or because I ordered all the volumes of Death Note). So, yeah. Glad it happened though.
On another note though, before all of that I watched Pokemon and Dragon Ball, so, yeah.

I followed Dragon Ball on tv when I was really young. I have to admit, the opening song (which was french in France) played a major role in this. Well, whatever 🙂

started with western cartoons and animes series you could watch in the early 90s on tv. then the late night softcore hentai and subbed animes that were "kind of big" like record of lodoss war. then the evening anime like dragon ball, later naruto and the anime on mtv in the early 2000s. died down for a few years then until i got broadband flatrate internet access and all hail to the new stuff.
