I'm tired of male leads that turn into flustered, bumbling idiots the moment a girl expresses any sort of sexual interest, whether joking or otherwise. I'm looking for a protagonist that can handle a girl's advances, maybe even flirt back (what a novel concept) or romantically pursue said girl.

Obviously I'm looking for romance, but if there are instances of this in manga where romance isn't the main focus I would be fine with that.

I'd also accept manga where the male lead is put off at the start, but gradually warms up to the girl's advances. I suppose what it boils down to is that I'm looking for a male lead who isn't a complete pushover with the primary love interest being a forward, sort of flirty type of girl.

I realize this cliche isn't so apparent in works with older, more adult characters which is why I'd like to read manga where the characters are high school age. Otherwise it wouldn't really be a subversion of the cliche.

That's probably not what you are looking for, but Tsuki Tsuki! has it's moments. The male lead can and will talk back to girls. If he finds himself in an embarrassing situation, he will try and turn it so that the girl would have a reasons to be embarrassed, not him. Despite the fact that the male lead might be worth of prise, the series itself has lots of pointless ecchi and it's a harem one. The male lead does make the series stand out among all those harem ons though.

All of Adachi Mitsuru's romcoms have cool male leads who almost never blush.

I could think of plenty of high school confident male leads, but as I don't read much seinen or shounen I had a hard time thinking of ones with flirty heroines.

In any case, these ones have guys that can easily handle it when girls go after them - but the heroine isn't one of the ones chasing the guy.
