why are they always written as it would be pronunced in japanses? not the translation of the japanses words into english?

it makes it so hard to remember titles.

Maybe because it doesn't make sense in English? Or cause it would be too long?
Funny how it's only with yaoi too. Other manga mostly have English names, or the ones that I read at least.

I agree that it does make it extremely hard to remember the names of yaoi that are not listed in their English name (if they even have one). The ones that do have English names like Embracing Love, A Foreign Love Affair, A Liar in Love, Sleeping Moon and so on are a lot easier to remember lol! I think most of the names aren't translated to keep them more 'authentic'. I don't notice that it is only with yaoi simply because yaoi is all I read..... >.<

how does it not make sense in english? translation isn't just looking things in the dictionary u know, it's also interpretation. you choose the closest english expression.

Actually is find it more confusing when there is an English name used. Out of the four Xanity listed I only knew for Embracing Love what's the story without looking, I couldn't even remember for others but I did immediately after I saw Japanese title.
And I don't think it's only because with scanlations usually the Japanese title is used, but it's actually easier for me to remember Japanese title. And also English titles are rarely consistent. Sometimes scanlaitors translate titles and official licensed version ends up having entirhely different title, not to mention i get lost with all the "the/a/an/ets" that are or are not used, like previously mentioned Sleeping Moon/The Sleeping Moon, I automatically think it's about 2 different tiles, when it's not.
But I guess English natives see this subject different opposed to people to whom both languages are foreign.

I personally prefer romanized titles. Like Okane ga Nai for example. "No Money" sounds awkward to me.

Also, romanized title makes manga more significant. Like Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru which is "Only my master knows my name" in English translation; if we googled the manga with the english translation, many non-related topics might pop out. But if we use the romaji directly, the right one comes. Easy use. 😉

IMHO, many titles that if they were translated into english, will have only a slight difference with other's. And when googling mangas, I prefer if they had japanese title, because in case it's not a popular manga, searching in english title would likely show many similar sentences that have no relationship with the target at all. And the case will be worse if we only remember a part of its name.
