Maybe I've read too many manhwa/manga but I find that statement to be way to broad.
I don't find any real differences between the two other then the usual drawing styles.

well shoujo manhwa
their bodies are kinda stiff and the art isn't always so great..(excluding some)
but I think shounen it better in art+plot most of the time
