Where I live the few mangas translated to my language goes for about 10$ and the imported english manga costs 2-3 times more. Though I know of a place where they sometimes have certain imported manga for sale at 4-5$.
If I could get all imported manga for 5$ I'd fill my room from top till bottom. As it is now I have somewhere between 100-150 manga pockets. I haven't counted them in a very long time, kind of afraid too 😉
Bottom line. 10$ for a manga isn't too expensive. Stop whining.

Yeah I'm probably nearing the 200 range when it comes to manga. I usually only buy manga to both credit the author (when i read the scanlations) and to keep a hard copy so my sister can read too since most of the series I do buy is usually good to read.
Besides since Canadian dollar went up, most of my local manga stores can sell them now at American price which saves me a bit of money since they're about 10 or less per volume plus I get a 10% discount since they're like that. So all in all, it isn't that expensive compared to say... anime for me ><

Whhere Ilive manga costs about 6-7€ per volume. As I know, imported (translated) manga costs about as much.
I still live with my parents, so I can afford manga (if I work hard in summer 😛 ). I think the situation will change after I move out to study 😀 .

It's cheaper to buy my manga online on amazon. But I usually go into central London and by from the huge anime and manga shop there called Orbital Manga. The books are about £5 on Amazon and £7 at Orbital Manga, and it's still really pricey for me...so I just download it.
