So, I'm looking for a Bromance. For those that aren't familiar with the term, it's a relationship between two males that are unusually close, but are straight (so a non-romantic relationship). Basically, a platonic relationship between two males.

It's alright if both or one of them has a girlfriend, but the male must put his friend/relative above said female.

This can be a tv-show, anime, manga, book.... whatever media outlet you can think of, I'm game.

Some Examples -
Sherlock (British TV series, 2010 - Relationship between Sherlock and Watson)
Supernatural (American TV series - Relationship between Sam and Dean)

Anyway, thanks!

TV shows:

Merlin (British tv show - Merlin and Arthur-the whole show is centered around this relationship. They are the definition of bromance)

Manga/Animes:

Nabari No Ou Again, they have deep bromance going on. In fact, the MC is an apathetic person who doesn't care about anyone else until he meets this other person. It's the two of them against everything.

Kuroshitsuji Who knows if they hate or love each other, but whatever it is, they are each others' most important person.

Togainu No Chi I think there might be implied BL in this, but there is definitely bromance as well.

Pandora Hearts He waits for ten years in order to see this guy again. Total devotion.

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

I also had the same impression when I first read it but I dont think it's shounen ai. Sure there are some shounen-ai scenes in the first two volumes, but as the story goes on, there's more Bromance vibe in it than shounen ai. Read the reviews.

I read it too, and while I agree their relationship got a lot less romantic, I think it obvious that there're still romantic feelings there.

Well, in Banana Fish is more shonen-ai than bromance....

You can try Sanctuary http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=1786, it fits your description and I really enjoyed it.

You probably want to check the subtext thread -- after all, one person's slashy gay subtext is another person's bromance. There's some lesbian subtext examples in there as well, but it's mostly subtext of the male sort.
