I choose the manga by genre and description. If it's shoujo and if it has romance, comedy, anything, no matter what the demographic is in, I'll read it.

Manga I'm loving ATM: Heart no Kuni no Alice

probably more random then anything....i'm mad picky when it comes to manga, so i figure out what type or genre manga i wanna read....then i try 10 random mangas of that genre, then i usually drop like 7-9 after the 1st volume, and end up choosing 1-3 of the 10

Most of the time I pick by description. Genre only comes into play for me when it has yaoi.. Which is a straight no for me. Even if it sounds good.

Mainly genre and then from things I find in the "Looking For ..." forum, I like to steal peoples ideas 😛

Artwork. Artwork is by far the determining factor for me.
If it sucks, 98% chance I will never read it; if it's good, 80% chance I will read it sometime.
Shame shame, you didn't include it as a choice.
Second most important is genre.

I usually choose mine randomly. The other way I choose manga is if I like a certain manga that I'm currently reading/finished, and I find out the mangaka has more of them.

The thread "Im Looking for..." really helps me to find a good series recommendations so much.
