Hmm I'd love to see the 1927 film The General as a manga. It's my favourite movie of all time and I don't know how well they could adapt it, but I'd love to see an attempt.
Now these aren't American movies, so not 100 percent on topic but also the 1960 version of Village of the Damned. They did make a rather sad excuse for a ermake years later that just failed to convey the same feeling as the original, and the sequal from '63 was just bad in general.
There is also a French film called Le Roi de Cœur full of mad men that I would enjoy seeing a manga adaptation of.
Village of the Dammned will make one creepy manga.... shudder.

NONE of them. 🤢 Chances of a manga adaptation being even as good as, never mind better than, the movie are pretty negligible.
How many books (of any type: print, comic, manga, etc.) based on movies are actually as good as or better than the movies they're based on?? I'm sure there are a few, but I can't think of any, and I'm sure that for every good one there are many, many lousy ones.

Star Wars. Such a huge universe and intricate characters to explore.
There is a star wars manga already... plus i agree its really over kill to do it.
I think that it more than likely going to happen... if not its already happening it could be either be loosely based upon or go by a different title. I mean i can't remember but I know they made Anne Rice's novel Interview with a Vampire into a manga...but i can't remember if it was more based upon the movie or the book...i say the latter.
I say Kill Bill would also be good to turn into a manga

i think someone should make a reverse of this topic. What anime/manga do you want to see as an american film.
i personaly want them to make a movie no a trilogy of anyone of the gundam series. im sure ity would turn out well seeing how transformers turned out.
PS
Im having doubts on the dragonball movie though

I think it would be the worst if they started making Anime Chick Flicks! Anime would have go corrupt otherwise!

glances at movie collection So far, nothing comes to mind that either didn't already start as a comic, already is a comic, a game, or something similiar.
checks collection database
The 13th Warrior
The Boondock Saints
Children of Men (definately, since this could go a few volumes for added story)
The Dune series
Equilibrium
Johnny Mnemonic (or any of the series of this movie's source)
Reservoir Dogs
A Sound of Thunder
What Dreams May Come
(if I get to name movies that had an American release, but not necessarily from here, I'd also put in the Night Watch series, and Parasite Eve)
This is all barring that they'd get extra story content to run though either from source material, or just to expand the story a little.

Gantz. It's violent and gory storyline should be enough to meet modern society's expectation of that. But it's kinda in it's "lost" phase so i'm sure (fingers glued into a cross) that'll have an awesome background and ending when it finally concludes (probably in 50 years time). ~ 😀

If someone did decide to do a Gantz movie, I'm guessing it'd be hard to keep it rated R and not NC-17, especially with current arc. And about the dragonball movie, it looks reidiculous cosidering who plays Goku, imho

Well, as for Gantz, I'd have to say no, if you look at what was cut from just the manga to anime adaptation, imagine what all would be cut to make it 2 hours.

thats a pretty good idea, but like someone said earlier, it would be hard to keep it under NC-17
and for us under 17 who love gantz
it wouldent be fair to not see it in theatersssss

Stars Wars has been done over and over and over and over in so many different media formats. I think Star Wars has something in every single media format (comics, books, dvds, VCDs, cartoons, toys, etc). If they made a Star Wars manga, then it'd hafta have nothing to do with any of the current Star Wars series. I'd either hafta be set WAYYY in the past or WAYY in the future. I don't wanna see Skywalker, Vader, Chewie or Solo references cropping up.
they already did do starwars i think it was published by darkhorse and it covers alot.
