LOOOL I found a page (in Dutch) which said: Mystery discovered!
It was about Paul; Paul the Octopus loves bright colors.
Because Spain has bright colors red and yellow he chose Spain's flag over the Netherlands' because Netherlands only has red. And white and blue fade away in water.
btw I really hope the Netherlands will become champions (for the first time!!)!!!
