If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

Well if I am getting this right you are looking for stories with inter-related characters (pairings), no? If so, great suggestion. xD I happen to have a list just for that~^-^

Aruhi Totsuzen Koi wa Kuru?!--There's just something about family stories, where all the guys turn out gay, or well somewhat. ^-^ One of the few works I like from the mangaka.
Zenryousei Ginsei Gakuen Monogatari--Boarding school anyone? All characters are inter-connected as well. Not a bad read.
Boku wa Bokunari ni--Again school. Hmm, really good stories, and great characters, art isn't bad either.
Zoku Kagakushitsu e Douzo--Another school one. xD Highly recommended. It's two pairings, but the story goes back and forth between characters. ^^
Seiryou Saikyou Monogatari--Another school one. Cute, great art. highly recommended.
Suki Dakedo!--Yet again school related. I recommend this one, uke isn't a pushover and the other characters are also quite unique. Recommend sequel as well: Houkago Men's Harem.
Warui Koto Shitai--School...again. Very cute read, both it and the sequel. Highly recommended, all the characters show up in later chapters/series. Kirai ja nai kedo
Ai to Yokubou wa Gakuen de--Boarding school with a twist: It's a sex boarding school. If you like smut, you might like this one. Lots of characters and they all have one or two things in common.
Hitorijime Theory--University this time. I loved it, amazing art and great story lines.
Signal Red Baby--Same mangaka as above. Love this one as well.Kinda angsty but deals with two pairings, all related somehow.
Go Con -Gokujou Rakuen Tours--Seems like what you're looking for. Lots of boys here. Not top on my list, maybe not even on it, but you may enjoy this one....
Hisho to Yajuu--Hmm more than two boys, but the first couple disappears in later chapters. I still do recommend this one, especially it's sequel, Suit wo Kita Akuma.
Aragau Netsujou-- A good read. Great characters I might say. More or less what you are looking for.
BLT Burning Love Twin--Inter-related characters (siblings) really a great read, and great art as well.
Darenimo Aisarenai--Highly recommended. Two pairings, all boys are connected somehow. I also recommend reading more of this managakas work:
Double Call-- Love it! All the characters, the smut, the story. Highly recommended.
Kibun wa joujou!--Boarding home, all boys, all good smutness. Enjoyable read.
Kooporasu e youkoso--Boarding home as well. Highly recommended.
Love Seeker-- Takes place in a company. All the guys know each other through the same department. Highly recommend this one, too cute to miss.
Stepping Stone--Work related. You will see characters that are found in other sequels, spin-offs, sidestories, etc...I recommend this one. The ukes and semes are quite memorable and the plot line is original, to say the least.
Freezing Flame--Great read, great characters, and lots of them might I add.
Shitsuren Mania-Pretty much the same as above.
Glamorous Lip--Not sure if this might be your kind of read, but I really liked it. Very pretty art, and all the characters are connected somehow, which is shown later on.
Shujii-- Great read. Highly recommended, along with the prequel: Innaikansen

Koibito no Hirakikata--Really cute. All the characters are interconnected somehow, in a way that isn't done much. Sensei always brings forth a refreshing story, these short stories do not disappoint in the least.
Tsuki to Ookamiotoko--Quite a good read so far.
Sawatte, Tokashite-- So cute. Highly recommended. The extra...^-^
Oasis Keikaku!--A cute read. More than two boys...boarding house...what more can you ask for?
Kimi wo Mukaeni--Very highly recommended. Great art, and the second uke in the second story is really a gem.
Romance at Our School--Highly recommend this one. Seems to be what you are looking for as well.
Kimi ni wa Katenai!--Highly recommended, really great read. The characters were all unique. Boarding school~
Oujisama Game--Too cute. Royal family, so more than two boys and all are connected. Try the sequel as well: Ousama Game

-KUSAKA Takaaki --Definetly has many stories with more than two boys. All of her stories...and I do mean all are connected. I've read all her work, and really she has some great stuff.
-Yamada Yugi-- Definitely try some of Yamada Yugi's work. Her stories are some of the best I've read, and the artwork isn't so bad either, great I might say. Most of her stories have more than two boys, all connected one way or another. And they aren't as cliche as some other stories.
-AKIRA Norikazu--Also has some great stories. Most of them have more than two characters: Heart Strings, Twin's Labyrinth.
-Hiiro Reiichi--A favorite as well. Her stories more often than not, have more than two pairings and about a dozen characters...not exaggerating here.
-Once again I'll be recommending FUJISAKI Kou. If you start off by reading Happy Yarou Wedding you'll notice many characters that later show up in other sequels. Reminds me of Love Mode somehow. Quite angsty, but still really great to read. If you can get by the art, I suggest you to read it. All of them~
