Denying his death is like denying the 3rd's death, they both died, protecting the village. Masashi isn't that stupid to write about the death of someone and repeat the procedure with another character then go back and say "oops, he's fine and dandy somewhere else in the world, just abandoned his family, friends and everyone he cared about because he's alive.".

He's dead as dead can be, even if the spirit is still around he's still dead either way. 🙄

what i want to ask is will the 4th be brought back from the dead (assuming he's dead) for even a short time at least we know its possible orichimaru brought the 1st and second back. and we knew he could have brought the 4th back to life otherwise the 3rd would not have worried about the third coffin when he was fighting orichimaru. this is also a reason why we can assume he's dead. but like you were saying about what happened when the 4th sealed kyubi what happened. if it had worked kyubi would be in the stomach of the reaper fighting the 4th. but kyubi is sealed in naruto. there could be a high chance of the 4th's soul being trapped in naruto. but this is kishi so ill assume that he's not till we get more proof

I was right the 4th is in naruto with the nine-tails. Unfortunately I was unable to say this on the forum in which I was called stupid for this theory. oh, well at least they're probably kick themselves in the butt over this or I can hope they are. I wonder if this thread should be closed now that it is proven that the theory is true?

what is wrong with some or u people. he isnt alive. what took place i the newest chapter confirms this.he isnt physically inside naruto. that is just gay. he set up the sealing jutsu in a way that if naruto were to ever go 8-9 tails he would appear as a safty precaution in asteral form. HE IS DEAD!!!!

Remember that chapter(s) when Orochimaru was about to bring some corpses back to life? (That means they're dead for the slower people.)
And he got the 1st and 2nd hokage, and was ABOUT to get the 4th until the 3rd got in the way. Doesn't that somehow give evidence that's he's not in the living world anymore? --;;

well the 3rd used the jutsu that requires one to sacrifice their soul to seal orochimaru's arms
the skill was developed by the 4th to seal the 9tail so maybe he used his soul to seal the 9tail and exists as the seal

The 4th Hokage is dead. He just set it so that when 8 tails are released he would appear in Naruto's consciousness. So I don't think you could call him alive, he is dead. If anything when he sealed the Kyuubi in Naruto, I guess he also had part of his soul go into Naruto as well. Ain't sure, but it's a better theory than saying he is alive. He died just like the third did. END OF STORY.

Wait for next week's chapter should give you the answer.

He is definitely dead. The 4th in Naruto is like some kind of programmed
hologram that would appear when Naruto is in danger.
Don't expect that he will come back to life and live with Naruto side by side.
But there is the also the possibility that yondaime transfered a piece of his soul into Naruto. So he lives in Naruto (kinda like the kyuubi). But I think it's unlikely.

We think he's dead, and just set a justsu to have a cop of him appear when here's 8 tails, but masashi kishimoto might just pull a fast one and be like, he sealed himself along with the kyuubi...or something like that

Yondaime said he's happy to see his son. I don't think it's just a simple memory programed into Naruto's subconscious. I'm guessing this more like one of those Star Wars force ghost moments. Maybe his spirit was sealed with fox.
