Completely depends on the anime.
Some feel long even if they last for
10 episodes and some haven't even started
before 20 episodes.

The formula of fail:

Plot start -> [[insert random stuff -> fillers
-> crap -> random stuff completed]loop] - > drag
-> another semi-plot -> drag -> semi-plot completed
-> fillers -> more cheese -> cheese finished
-> more episodes of nothing -> more episodes where
no resolve is found -> a possible ending with the success
rating = [20/100]*[1/the amount of useless episodes]

The formula of win:

Start----FuckyeahawesomeImustbreaksomethingwithabat--->Fin.

The series should come to an ending and reach
the final conclusion as steadily as possible.
No rushing, no lagging.
It torments me to see how they insert a package
of 20 abortive episodes somewhere just so that the
ending wouldn't come too fast or if a red herring is introduced just
to cover up the logical fallacies and the inability to create a clear line of implication. Doing so will only ruin it.

Still, I chose around 100 episodes.

want to see the cake rot either.

It really Depends on how good the story is. For me, around 100 eps is good if the story is good. If it doesn't look like it's going anywhere, then I could only deal with 13 eps.

I chose around 50 eps and that's the max before things start getting boring or seem to drone on.

I like long-ish series cause then that means I don't have to search for others to watch. And if I find myself getting bored then I'll just drop it until I feel I can get back into it.

I think 50 episodes should be good enough to develop a nice story anything longer is getting boring riddled with fillers.

For me it all depends on the story ~ so it varies. 😕

Although I voted for 100+... guess which animes I like? 🤣

I myself voted for 50 episodes. Alot of older series run over 25 episodes. 100 or more is bit long. Although I can think of two exceptions. One is over thirty years old and the other is One Piece.

I voted around 25 episodes. Anywhere from 12-25 is a great range for me. Series around 50 seem to be pushing it. FMA, though great, diverted a bit too much from the manga for my liking, and I thought Eureka Seven was pushing it a bit much. GTO was the only 50+ series that I felt could have continued and stay enjoyable.

Are there 50+ series I'm missing here that have as much praise as the above three? My minds on vacation and I don't want to discredit good, longer series.

24-26 episodes seems to be the norm so I'm not surprised to see that get the most votes.

Still, a lot of anime with ~25 episodes drag on so slowly and you end up with generic beach or "seven mysteries" episodes thrown in for no reason.

Voted ~12 episodes because I'm pretty sure I've seen some really good anime with that length. They sometimes are so popular that they come back for another series or two.

Still, was a close decision between ~12 and ~25.

As a whole it really doesn't matter to me the length as long as the story can be put to rest by the end of the series, unless of course they are planing a sequel.

Though some series that are based on manga in my opinion shouldn't end to fast before the manga itself is even thinking about ending. (such as princess resurrection the anime ending in Vol. 5 when there are a total seven volumes in the manga.) 🤢

I like mine from 25-100. I only follow anime with more than 100 if they're still very entertaining, or if they have some action scenes in the manga that are confusing and would be cleared up when watching the scene in the anime.

Twelve or under is a good number to me. I like short series a lot, like Haibane Renmei, Kememonozume and Paranoia Agent.

13-26 is the standard for me. Any longer and they tend to put in fillers etc.. Or just suck. But atm 26 is about maximum of my interest, any more and I tend to get saturated and bored of it, unless the story is awesome. 13 is kinda nice and short. Some manage to do good things in that amount, but of course some just fail completely... 🤢
