Sorry about the weird title, I don't know how to express what I mean clearly. My request is quite specific, but if you think you know a title that fits just partly, you can recommend it too 🙂

I'm looking for a manga (a film or a book would be nice too) in which a character, preferably with some strong sense of justice, kills monsters for a living. By "monster" I mean some creatures which are hated by everyone (and by the character I mentioned, too), either because they are evil or just because they are different. Perferably pretty 🙂
And I want the guy/girl to fall in love with a member of a race (or whatever) he/she hates so much.
I'd like him/her to be torn between the hate and love.
I don't want to read anything very gorey or explicitly sexual.
Softcore yaoi is okay.
It would also be nice if the manga had pretty art.
The only manga I read and it fits my request is Jadou - Tenmou Yatan

I'm making this request because I had an interesting dream tonight, about a priest and a vampire and I'd like to read something similar.

the last story in Sarashi Asobi sounds like it might be what your looking for
Hiiro Ouji might be good as well

Kemonozume - except it's gory and probably explicitly sexual...

Maybe Vampire Knight, even if it's been a while since I was reading this one, or The Bride of the Water God, if you don't mind Manhwa and the main character not being some kind of hunter?

If I remember this correctly, then the main girl in VK isn't all that fond of vampires in the beginning and tries to avoid them - more or less, till she falls in love with one and discovers her true nature. As for the second one, the female lead starts off as sacrifice for the god and of course she is scared because of this, before she falls in love with him.

Edit: Even if there are just some subtle hints for the attraction between the characters in Witch Hunter Robin (Anime), I think it's worth taking a look at this one, too. ^^"

I suppose Superior will fit the bill, it's a pretty good manga too.

There's a lot of soft yaoi around monster and vampires etc, but one that is kind of similar would probably be Vassalord or Nekrateholic

I just remembered a really really good soft yaoi, Na mo Naki Tori no Tobu Yoake. The art is very beautiful and the story is really good too. It's about an angel that fell in love with a kind demon.

Also you can try the category Star-Crossed Lovers for romance that's being held back by outside forces, like destiny or position.

I second Superior And it's sequal Superior Cross

The art is beautiful, and the guy is a hero and the girl, the demon queen.

I third Surperior and I second the sequel. The sequel dewells on that concept even further. Also considering who the main female is there's much drama to play with. But it's not so much about hating the monster race, but trying to unite the two races by trying to kill one in particular (who he happens to hate).

Watashi No Ookami-san Is a comical version of this. Like the one above, the girl is a hero and needs to defeat him, but doesn't particulary hate him. I only read up to chapter two and I think that though he's incredibly powerful he offically gives up his title to travel with her for his one sided love. It's probably not what you're looking for, but it's somewhat cute.

There was another one, but I cannot recall its name at the moment. It fits better and is a mixture of the one above but with angel vs. demon elements.

3 times? why not four? try Superior haha
and also Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!", but it's not as good

These are all kind of the reverse of what you asked for, where the monster falls for their prey:

Maigo no Kemonotachi - The girl is a mermaid, and the boy is a demon, who usually hunts and eats mermaids.

"Sekai wa Futari de Dekite Iru", the third story in Ningyo Ouji, is about a succubus who falls for a priest.

Katsuai Monster - a man-eater falls for his food, yaoi

"Secret Knife" (Himitsu no Naifu) and "Rose and Knife" (Bara to Naifu), stories in Dakishimetakunai - a shinigami falls in love with the yakuza hitman he has come to claim. NAONO Bohra often uses the theme of monster and human. Yaoi

Thanks for all recommendations 🙂
I think I'll pass Kemonozume (because of gore), and I dropped Vampire Knight after the first volume (I don't like this kind of manga very much) but I'll try the other recommendations. Starting from Superior, since it was recommended do many times 🙂

Not sure if this will be fine but I recommend SM Hunter

Basically its about spam mail humanoids or monsters that look like humans and are hated by humans since humans fear them. Spam Mail Hunters are there to save humans from these 'monsters'. Won't tell you more than that but the 'monster' is beautiful and the 'monster slayer' falls in love with her.

I hope this will be okay? ^-^

Seconding Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - "Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo" "Kotowaru!", though it's more of a manga about economics. There is romance, but it isn't necessarily the main focus, so unless you enjoy mangas like Spice and Wolf, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

Oh, I also love Watashi no Ookami-san and its sequel Dear. Both sort of loosely fits the criteria, though not necessarily as much as the other recommendations.

Hanakisou might fit, though the "monster" in question is actually a human being who is hated and labeled as a monster. Everything else fits the bill, though, as the love interest's duty is to kill said "monster".

As for tag recommendations, I would also recommend checking out the "Enemies Become Lovers" tag.
