I didn't like the ending of Hana Kimi. I'm sorry to say it but the ending sucked! Actually all gender bender manga and or anime sucked (i.e. I, My, Me, Strawberry Egg). I loved Hana Kimi and all but the ending just really stunk. ><
But it was a happy ending 😐 😕

EXCEL's ending >_> for who have read the manhwa.. you should know :/ the couples are wrong.
Lets see, Aishiteruze Baby was mentioned, so I figured I'd give my interpretation of that ending. Kippei was encouraging Yuzuyu to go with her mother so that they could develop a great mother/daughter releationship. I thought the ending was great. It was well thought out, but most of all, it was something nobody suspected, and was surprising. I still wanted a chapter where they all got together, though. I did enjoy the quick time lapse to the future, but I wanted everyone to meet, and maybe get a nice "all character portrait" for the last page.
I hated the Ichigo 100% ending. I was completly rooting for Aya the whole time, because I never really liked Nishino. After it, I thought "So, the entire point of the manga is the hot chick does win every time? The intelligent one gets ignored? I hate this manga now". So, yeah, I love Ichigo 100%, until the ending.
I didn't really enjoy the ending to Hikaru no Go, or, rather, before the ending. I was deeply saddened when Sai just disappeared. It was emotional, yes, and it may have been a good idea, but I think it was unfair to the characters, especially Hikaru. I honestly felt after the departure of Sai from the manga, it got a bit too dramatic because Sai wasn't there for comic relief.
In regards to Rurouni Kenshin, even though I own the third season, I hate it. All filler. The manga is better in that aspect, however I still maintain that Trust and Betrayal are some of the finest OVA's I have ever seen. It really departed from the standard of the Kenshin anime, even going so far as to get a new studio for the animation. The OVA was just awesome, plain and simple. I didn't like the fact that the Reflection OVA tried to cover the Enishi arc of the manga, because there is no way they'd be able to do it without at least 40 episodes of anime to cover it.
I disagree with the opinion that GTO's ending wasn't good. Fujisawa Tohru said in an interview that we'd be seeing Onizuka again, eventually, so he didn't really wanna give it a solid "This is the end, goodbye" type ending. Of course, thats also because GTO is a sequal to Shounen Junai Gumi, anyways. I can't wait to see more Onizuka, myself, so I hope hes working on it.
Boku no Futatsu no Tsubasa had a weird ending. Then again, the entire thing was pretty out there and far-fetched to begin with. It was weird, but I wouldn't say I hated it or didn't like it. I just accepted it.

Hikaru no Go MAJOR SPOILER UP AHEAD. Read at your own risk.
The Death Note ending and the Hikaru no Go ending REALLY pissed me off. It's just...it could have ended better or gone on longer! D:
I wish Sai didn't have to disappear so early.
The Absolute Boyfriend ending was pretty sad. =/

I too was bit disapointed to Hikaru no Go ending. Its one of my favorite series but i wanted more >_<. And its was very sad when Sai leave 😢
Death note ending was ok though it might been better if it ended after death of L. Near and Mello were kinda lame characters.
The ending of The Demon Ororon blew chunks as did Banana Fish.
If you're gonna kill the main character kill 'em in the first panel. Don't make me love them and then take them away.
And Earthian had this "end it in twelve pages" thing going on. I hate that!

I'd like to add Suzuka... After the first couple of volumes I'd thought it would be another Ichigo 100%..
I was a bit dissatified with the ending.. I mean it's good and all that they ended up happy.. But his duel with Arima never came..

I agree with Hikaru no Go! And Air Gear! But Air Gear needs a new season, while Hikaru no Go could have made people feel better about Sai.. x.X
And I actually liked the ending of Aishiteruze Baby, it was a happy one. xD
Why ask Why?--[Avatar doesn't belong to me, I found it on some site I forgot. >.<]

well...his duel with Arima wasn't the focus of the plot anyway...the title IS Suzuka for a reason

It was a lame-ass happy ending. It lacked emotion, it was just kind of there, like the mangaka just ran out of things to say. There was no complexity, no interest. It was a plain yogurt ending.

i know your post was a while ago, but i just agreed to much with this. When i read the last page of this one i just stared at my computer screen for a minute. It almost felt like they tried to make as bad as it was
was a decent manga tho

Mmm, I don't really remember right now what manga endings I don't like except Monster.
Making Johan escape after two brain surgeries in his life in the last panel isn't fair!!! I hate it when people throw in a huge twist at the end! Fruits Basket's ending was unsatisfactory imo. Many endings that were mention already are ones I hate too.
For anime, I've got a bunch on my list. This includes all the dot hack series. The endings are way too rushed, and dot hack roots's ending wasn't an ending at all. I like the manga much more, but it got licensed. 😢 Oh, finally, Claymore.
Weak! Too weak! Clare should have beaten Priscilla and Raki was a whiny crybaby to the end. I'm just waiting for a second season or something because the end was so open-ended.

Amen! Truly pathetic ending made even more painful for the series being so damn long. And no, it's not because he didn't choose the girl I liked best, it's because he could have chosen any one randomly - it didn't matter at all.
Also Chrono Cross anime (shame, I sooo loved the manga. What the hell were they thinking?)
Hm... can't think of anything else right now.
Oh... and I know this is really off-topic but I've been dying to vent on someone: His Dark Materials is a great series of books with a tremendously awful ending. There, I said it.

These are the series whose endings I remember and think are worth mentioning:
To those who said Hikaru no Go's ending was disapppointing, I agree.
It sucked with Sai disappearing and the fact that Hikaru lost his final match. Big letdown IMO.
The Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien anime had a huge disappointing ending. I was rooting for the other girl the entire series and she ends up ditched at the end.....
The fate/stay night anime had an ok ending, but I don't think it gave enough closure on a good series.
The planetes (the manga since I don't know how well the anime followed the manga) ending was kind of wierd...
with Hachimaki's speech at Jupiter not as inspiring or moving as I'd though it would be .
The FMA anime ending is completely like...where the f*** did that ending come from? And the movie made it worse, IMO.
The Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad anime ended. It wasn't bad, but I really want to see in the anime some of the stuff that happens in the manga. And besides, the anime was the only way the music in the manga could ever be actually heard by the fans. At least by ending it with the manga still in continuation, the production company wouldn't be forced to make filler episodes.
