Really old thread, but was recently reading a manga that qualifies, so...

Oooku is an AMAZING, TRULY AMAZING manga about a female-dominated society; one of the major themes is rape, and men are raped, too (or coerced into sex at the point of death, which is pretty much the same thing, right?). I found it particularly tragic when this man couldn't marry the woman he loved (because he wasn't of a high enough "class"), and ended up as just another pretty face belonging to the emperess's harem, where he was ordered to have sex with her knowing that he would be immediately beheaded afterwards. Why? Because he caught her fancy, but it was still a "sin" for her to be touched, and anyone who touched her would have to be killed (how crazy!). It was like a 1001 Nights-style bloodfest, but instead of the women being raped and beheaded, it was the men. I guess this was the point of the manga, to expose the follies of sexism by turning the tables so drastically.

Still...

This particular man actually narrowly escapes execution afterwards, because the empress later turns out to be a decent sort, but it was still such a freaky situation that I would definitely call what he underwent rape. shudder And several other male characters undergo similar or worse situations, both at the hands of other women and men (well, imagine all-male harems where they aren't allowed to touch women - imagine the amount of frustration, rage and dissatisfaction that might propel the more powerful men to force the weak).

Actually in Oooku, it's the harem of a general (shogun) not emperess. I don't remember any major male character has been successfully raped. It's more like, unsuccessful.

By the way, the mother of the first female shogun was a rape victim, thus she bore the shogun. The first female shogun herself was also raped when she was young. Later she made the "execution law" that the first ever man who had sex with a shogun should be beheaded.

Sakyo (vol 6) was raped by his mom and fathered two kids, and eventually joins the harem after the shogun 'saves' him. I definitely count that as rape, and he was emotionally scarred too.
