"Just Friends"

How long does it take for you to consider someone you know as "just friends"?
By that I mean, at what point do you determine you're not going to want to go out with them because the feelings of familiarity and being only friends have set in?
Also, please note your gender.

Not too long. All the guys I know are basically platonic towards me. I'm pretty much the same, because of my condition.

i categorize EVERY guy i meet as a friend first.
after 5 minuts, if i still like him, he's still my friend, and a day later if i dont find out that he's gay, taken, serious dumbass or someone so similar to me that i wonder if were twins separeted at birth, i might start like him.
so basically my "friend" illness is a bit different from other girls...
but if nothing happens for a week, sooooooooooooooo friend. 😀 😀
but, i can always change my mind, tho i dont like to.

I am a guy and I don't actually even think about
anything like relationships when I meet people.
If it happens, then it just happens. <.<

unfortunatly jerks r cute (except a particular girly god of war #6).
so how come all my jerky friends ALWAYS, ALWAYS categorize me as a friend?! its not like im not cute, ive been hit on by older guys tons of times before.
but my classmates see me as a fellow guy...
ill abuse this thread to ask you neutral ppl, WHY?

Allow me to rephrase my question: "How long will it be until they are JUST friends?" That is, until you no longer have ANY desire to go out with them at all.

Just to state that your comment does not
make you look less jerky. 🤣

my type is actually cte funny guys, but i can be attracted to jerks easily, cuz somehow they r eithr nice to me(the older ones who see me as a kid sister) or act like im one of them guys (my classmates. guy talk is flowing out of my ears already)...
its not that i dont like how it is now, but id really like to find a bf before ill turn into a 45 yo bf-less virgin.....

Just friends? I've been using that for years.
Usually because they don't know me enough to understand what situation they're about to get into. I could just tell by how they talk and react.
Like there's this guy who had a crush on me for a year last year at my old school? He confessed to me.
On his msn name.
Even if he was shy or what ever, he should know (because sometimes I sort of ramble on and on about what I think is right) that I don't take the confession seriously when it's not face to face.
After a while, he told me (online of course) that I'd probably never like anyone because I never care (in a 'cruel tone'). I'd reply to him with a witty comeback, but I think it's just not worth the effort.
I care enough to know that they'll regret being in an intimate relationship with me. I just really wish all of them jerks would just grow up and stop thinking that the world revolves around them.
All of the guys who liked me and who I used to like (except two) turned out to be jerks (insulting me as much as possible) and I'm happy to wash my hands of them.

..that's ridiculous. When I talk to someone for the first time, I don't do so with the intention of dating them. They start out as a stranger, then work their way up to a friend. If our relationship happens to go beyond there, awesome. & if it doesn't, I won't lose any sleep at night.

I'm not sure.....well, I'll tell you a story, certain member(cough, Dark_Sage Cough), whom I never met before, asked me to be his/her 'special friend'

I'll admit that as soon as I looked at someone (usually male but an occasional female here and there) that I thought to myself - I'd do him - or...not. Sure, this is based totally on feelings of lust and judging someone on looks alone, but that's how it is. If there is no initial attraction, I think it VERY unlikely that there ever will be. Even if the person turns out to be the nicest, funniest, most wonderful person...if I didn't want to sex them up on first meeting, I never will. And yeah - I'm a married mama of (soon to be) 2 girls.
