for me as a guy to be just friends with a girl I have to know she's unavailable. There has to be that fact out there for me to just be that relaxed around her. But if thats there, she may as well be a guy to me

but on the original topic, I guess from a male perspective, you can become just friends to a girl if she's already got somebody or you just aren't what she's into(as far as she knows anyway)

I don't think there is a "time limit". If you get to know the person well but still like them, it could be "something more" or not. Even if you do like the person, they other person could think of you as "just friends". It's all complicated.

hmm.. As a girl, I admit that I judge people on first appearances. I don't have people who are "just friends" after a while.. It's more of.. Regardless of what happens, they'll always be "just friends." As for the guys who aren't immediately "just friends", I'll always still be interested in them. So basically, there is no point of no return for me. Old feelings can always be reharvested.

Btw. There are more in the "just friends" category. But, then again, I'm a flirt, so it's hard to tell......

And yes, I know I flirt a lot. It's just a habit now. It's not like I really mean it all the time...

ahhh this is a topic I enjoy. To me all girls start out as just friends. There are 5 kids in my family 4 of them are my sisters. So needless to say I am not always in a rush to add another female addition to the bunch. Plus I like to get to know a person before I decide hey I like them. Saves lots of drama and heart ache when you know about them rather then "discovering" things about them while your supposedly an item.

I think you would be making yourself narrow-minded if you ruled someone as just a friend permanately, so I would like to keep my options open, but I also think you will meet some people that you will care for in a sibling capacity and they will therefore be more than friends, but not... something else, if that makes sense.
