When you watch anime what type of video quality do you like? I personally watch it on veoh, but I prefer AVI quality at least. My favorite video file type is MKV.

I vote for online. It's because it's faster for me to watch it that way. Plus I hardly ever have enough space on my computer to download an actual episode >.< But when I can download, I like avi the best ^.^

I prefer to buy the DVDs so that I can watch them on a bigger and better screen than my computer. Also, DVDs have the bounus/special features that you don't get on youtube.

Seconded, Dvds are way better, fixed animation, bonus thingies, and higher quality

I make a point of buying what I like (assuming it's been licensed) just to be a little bit more ethical. So I generally prefer DVDs.

I use mkvs for downloads though.

yea but im a cheap bastard and dont have the resources to buy DVDs for anime unfortunately. I don't like DVDs that much because they take up a lot of space in my house. I already have a large DVD collection and the amount of space it takes up is gross.

I like MKV cuz it's good quality and has sub options as well. I also use RM and RMVB frequently because of the small file size for quick downloads.

I prefer fansubs (avi) to DVDs. At least I know I'm getting the original anime with fansubs and not the butchered, censored, Americanized stuff with bad dubs the U.S. companies put out. I might have bought DVDs of the anime I like, but after The Knights of the Zodiac, the only DVDs I might buy are from Kitty Media (they use subtitles not dub) and that's if I can find out whether they sell the original or not.

You're mixing file types with codec types. You can have an H.264 mkv or an H.264 avi or an xvid mkv, etc. Personally I prefer H.264 mkvs with lossless sound, as I am a huge quality whore.

I prefer mkv because it's has really good quality even though it takes up more room. I'm perfectly fine with avi format too but I dislike anything that has less quality than that.

First of all i must get the video then worry about quality. Prefer mkv and rmvb because of it's small size, nice graphic and i like lightweight soft Media Player Classic .

Me to, the most difference between avi and H.264 format was for me Lucky star, H.264 had some of the lines fixed and the animation was better with that fix

In Anime? Veoh/Youtube is fine.

In REAL movies? DVD please, although I have nothing against a GOOD crappy one, if the movie is still in theaters..

I prefer to buy my anime when I can afford it, but since I am a broke ass mofo, I prefer AVI.

I don't like MKV formatted videos because of the subtitles. They are too big and sometimes unclear

h.264 .mkv files are what I get, but only those which take up the same space as their .avi counterparts, otherwise .avi, for the ones I'm not sure of yet, I stream them online on crunchyroll
