I hope he gives them all new looks and the training will probably be shown during fillers in the anime.

For the training, I think it'll be revealed during future fights as opposed to just showing it. Like during a fight Luffy has where he's using some new techniques, they'll show his training in flashbacks little by little, and at the climax of the fight, when he's about to finish the opponent off with said skill, they finally show him acquiring the skill in the flashbacks.

I'm hoping for new looks too, and they probably will happen. I mean Coby changed so much in just a few months, so 2 years should be more than enough time for changes.

Damn I can't wait for the next chapter. I'd love to see some new looks for all the characters but I hope training will be revealed in bits and pieces as they fight so we arn't stuck with a bunch of flashback chapters.

I don't know if we'll see a bunch of flashbacks like that. They didn't really do it when Luffy thought of his gears. And we never really knew of his fortitude until recently. It could be a while if we get flashbacks if any.

I was thinking about the fact that the time lapse of 2 years is actually longer than the whole story of One Piece that we have read up until now.

According to this site, it is around 3-6 months. No one knows for sure, I guess...

With that, 2 years of time lapse is pretty long. The characters might change a lot!

Maybe this is common in other Shonen manga as well...

Notice that Dragon and Garp are kinda huge. Anyone thinks that Luffy will end up like that?

They usualy dont say anything about time passing by in any manga "usualy" but i think u cant put 500+ chapters in few mounths its should be AT LEAST a year since chapter 1 till now otherwise it has no sence...

well i was just estimating his age before death cause i didnt know it but thanks and actually he isnt 88,he is 90 cause dont forget the 2 year skip they doing now lol

In volume 0, Oda says that Strong World was Luffy's final adventure as a 17 year old. I believe in the filler episodes for the anime, the story takes place several days before Whitebeard war, so we can assume that he is still a 17 year old by the end of this chapter.

So yeah, only a few month has gone by within 500+ chapters.
